I have learned over the years that any time I see a review or reviews that continuously name the director and how great he is the red flag will now go up for me. Family, friends, production crew, all are told to hype the movie to get sales (and make sure you mention the director). Run away and save your money.

Started out alright, then slowly went downhill...
It was the movie's cover/poster that lured me in. I hadn't even heard about the movie prior to coming across it by sheer random luck. It looked appealing, and had a very zombiesque feel to it, so of course I decided to give it a go.
Well, I must say that the movie started out quite okay, and definitely had a post apocalyptic feel to it. But I had expected zombies, that just never happened. Instead we were treated to some kind of infected people that we never get to see - what was up with that? - and also to some people referred to as "Berserkers". Right, well it just felt like the audience were being cheated of the actual good stuff.
It should be said that there is a good atmosphere in the movie, despite the shortcomings of not really letting the audience see anything overly great.
The characters in the movie were detailed and nicely carved out - pardon the pun. And the movie was definitely held afloat by the character gallery and the interesting ensemble of actors and actresses they had to perform in the movie. There is no doubt about the fact that it was solely and singlehandedly the effort of Lulu Antariksa - playing Anna - that carried the movie and made it bearable, because she was phenomenal. I will also say that Colin O'Donoghue - playing Peter - did a good job in acting, despite the fact that I found the character annoying. It was also nice to see the likes of Mimi Rogers and Jeff Kober in the movie.
Storywise, then you shouldn't be expecting too much from "What Still Remains". It actually starts out quite alright, then grows flaccid midways through. And once you come to realise the actual essence of the movie, its story and its focal point, it just became a slap to the face.
I had expected something very different from "What Still Remains". It had some good moments, for sure, and it was entertaining enough up to a certain point. However, this is not the type of movie that I will be watching a second time around. I will say that the acting performance in the movie by Lulu Antariksa actually made me want to check out other movies that she starred in because she really did a good job in "What Still Remains".
A boring movie about people talking to each other
The apocalypse has happened... a long time ago. Now all you have are a bunch of people living it agro style, but with guns. And as people do, they make their own rules and hold them above everything and everyone. Our heroine just moves from one group of people to another, talking to people, witnessing their respective madness or cultism and then talking some more. It's not that it was bad, it's that it was not good either. There was nothing new brought to the table, nothing gained by making it an apocalyptic movie, just a bunch of rednecks talking to each other but without the benefit of a Western storyline or a horror tension or anything really.
Bottom line: there was no scene in this film that I enjoyed. It was depressingly boring.
