A familiar black urban young adult horror story in which a bunch of street kids find themselves battlng an unscrupulous rich vampire for control of the Bronx. Don't go in expecting any kind of originality here, because it's a straight-up copy of everything from FRIGHT NIGHT to ATTACK THE BLOCK, but without much in the way of charm; strictly a box-ticking exercise that goes through the motions, in fact. I'm always pleased to see Shea Wigham in a film but I was embarrassed for him here.

Murrau real estate in buying up shops in the Bronx. The firm is run by vampires who make generous offers and then kill the owner once they sign. These are classical style vampires. Some young boys accidentally discover the vampires and no one believes them.

This is a fun film. Amusing. It appears to catch the flavor of a small neighborhood and goes easy on the rough stuff. Even the gangbangers are not that bad.

Guide: No F-word, sex, or nudity.

The movie does not serve really new things to people who've seen movies ... horror movies in particular. But it is a fun little gem of a movie we get served here. From the casting (Method Man as a man of faith to name just one),to the dialog, to the setting (in the Bronx).

Yes you get cliches but the group of kids and the way they behave ... everything is fitting. Even their "mistakes" (filming a vampire and so forth) - they just don't know any better. Also any movie that references Wesley Snipes as Blade has already won on mutiple levels. So don't overthink it, don't expect anything more from this than it actually is: a fun little horror movie aimed mainly at a younger audience
