Tracey directs this one, with much the same rhythm and truth as her "Takes On" series.
Surprises include legend Debbie Reynolds playing it straight to Ruby Romaine's booze-soaked stream of consciousness; new characters Svetlana and Pepper Kane; veterans Barbara Bain, Paul Dooley & M. Emmet Walsh all casted brilliantly in flashbacks (the tales as spun by Ruby).
Ruby is certainly among the most inspired of Ms. Ullman's characters. This HBO special is long overdue & much appreciated. Viva Romaine!!!

Tracey and her multiple personalities
Tracey is so incredibly talented! It's impressive how she can be a convincing, completely different person in a blink of an eye. I laughed all through this show. We all know people like the characters she portrays. That's what makes this so funny. Tracey is awesome! A must watch!
Tracy lets her hair down, completely.
SO much fun. Irreverent. Incorrect. Loud. Truthful. Opinionated lady.. Tracy is Ruby, making up Debbie Reynolds for ... something. Who knows what. And everyone keeps stopping by to speak with them... Ruby, Debbie Reynolds, or Barbara Bain. RoseMarie even comes to visit... she was apparently a child star thousands of years ago, but now she's ooooold. She was great on dick van dyke show. And they make fun of that silly hair ribbon that's always stuck to the side of her head. George Schlatter, who did Laugh In, and Norman. Everyone trashtalks everyone else. And cusses like sailors. Fun stuff! Highly recommend this short, fun bit from Tracy U. Fifty minutes. Cheech marin. So many of these folks are gone already... Rose Marie, Debbie R. Show written and directed by miss Tracy.
