Toys of Terror (2020) is a movie I recently DVR'd off Syfy (on Christmas Day). The storyline focuses on a family that moves into an old mansion. The family focuses on renovations while their children explore the house. The children find a chest full of toys with bad intentions. This movie is directed by Nicholas Verso (Boys in the Trees) and stars Kyana Teresa (Shadow Hunters),Georgia Waters (Siren),Dayo Ade (Lost) and Verity Marks (The Christmas Club). The storyline and set-up for this movie is fun and entertaining. The special effects are fairly dreadful because the toys and animation never align. I don't hate the animation as much as some, but then when you see the toy compared to the animation it's awful. I also wondered why they used animation sometimes (the toys) and not others (the Christmas star). As a horror fan, I actually recommend watching this; however, it's definitely not good just one you should see once. This did have a good set up and potential. I'd score this a 4/10.

Plot summary
Just before Christmas, young Zoe, her brother Franklin and their family move into a secluded mansion with a dark past. While the adults focus on renovating the place, the bored kids find a toy chest hidden in the attic, and are delighted when the toys inside magically come to life. But bizarre events soon begin to take place - events that threaten the family's lives. As the special day dawns with gifts piled under the tree, the body count rises and the blood starts to flow. This original "scary-tale" will have the kids screaming for the holidays!

Bee Afraid
In the opening scene we see a woman deliver a chest full of toys that belonged to Jason who had died at the Saint Germaine's children clinic. And then something happens. Years later David (Dayo Ade ) and Hannah (Kyana Teresa) move in. They are house flippers. With them are three children and a nanny. They discover a chest of toys.
The toys are cursed and evil. They are not very subtle about it. The family battles for their lives, more easily than any Puppet Master film, I think. I have only seen four or five. It was a nice location and set up. The characters didn't appeal to me.

Is this Halloween for Christmas
A mild thriller with a few scares and heavy on the creepy. Creepy kids and creepy toys. A young family moves into an on old house to refurbish, flip and make some money. The mansion was once a home for children before a tragedy closed it. The young brother and sister discover a chest full of toys that come to life for them and persuade them to do destructive tasks. Special effects are not good; but still the movie is worth a look see.
