Ugh. Another movie where the good guy who is only trying to create something beautiful has to die so some dumb clod female can live. Another movie where the dumb girl chooses a broke, short-tempered, aggressive creep over a nice guy who only wants to give her everything. I know directors are trying to be edgy and get away from cliché "good-guy-gets-the-girl" stories, but I don't have to like it. Technically it was fine, nice sets & good performances, but thumbs down to the story.
Alternate ending: since Richard had been a developer of brainscan technology when he lived, he could actually see when the other patients had an impending fatal aneurysm and hold it off by interfering with their consciousness, keeping them alive in suspended animation in his heavenly dream. That's why Adrien died 2 weeks after waking up & leaving the hospital. So when Ana killed Richard to "escape" from his dream, she also died 2 weeks later because Richard was no longer there to hold back the fatal aneurysm. Fin.
Plot summary
A young American couple, Ana and Tom are traveling across France. They don't come from money, so when Richard hires them to work on his estate, it feels like a dream come true. In the following days, the dark secrets of the property and its owner start coming to light. One day Tom makes a discovery, which may be more than he can handle. Ana is forced to accept the truth, which will change her forever. Because the worst part isn't the dream itself. It's waking up.

Confusing story, wooden acting. And why was it rated min age 18?
90% rubbish
I came across this film and wondered if I should bother watching it. I tried to find reviews and information but there is very little available. A handful here, little much else.
To be fair, it makes a lot more sense having watched the movie. I'll save you the bother of having to go through the experience given its not a particularly rewarding one.
All the experiences of love, trauma and confusion happen within the mind of the girl who is in a coma as a result of the bus ride accident she has at the beginning of the movie, and to be honest all these events she experiences are a little ridiculous and underwhelming.
I found my attention continually wandering and interest spent as what little of the plot unfolded. There are so many films where I've seen opinion expressed that the film didn't full fill potential, but I don't think this is one of them. The concept is an interesting one, but the film really doesn't have much to offer aside from beautiful scenery and overplayed notions of love, romance and loneliness.
It's well shot, with beautiful imagery but that s about it.
Definitely not worth the investment in time to watch.
