Slow paced narrative and boring storyline...

Initially then I must admit that this 2013 Thai drama titled "Prayok Sanya Rak" (aka "Present Perfect Continuous Tense") sounded like a movie that would be well-worth watching from the synopsis. Sure, I hadn't heard about this movie from writer and director Palatpol Mingpornpichit prior to watching it. But with it being a Thai movie that I hadn't already seen, and the interesting synopsis, of course I opted to give it a go.

However, the reality was something else entirely, because the narrative in the movie was rather slow paced, and the storyline was in fact somewhat mundane and boring. And those things made "Prayok Sanya Rak" quite a struggle to sit through.

Sure, I will say that the concept idea behind the storyline here was interesting, but the execution of it and the transition from script to screen faltered. There are aspects to the storyline that have solid contents, but it was drowning in the slow paced narrative, because I was just simply losing interest and giving up on the whole thing.

The acting performances in "Prayok Sanya Rak" were good though, no doubt about that.

Ultimately then "Prayok Sanya Rak" is not a movie that entertained me, and I was somewhat disappointed with what writer and director Palatpol Mingpornpichit managed to deliver here.

My rating of "Prayok Sanya Rak" lands on a four out of ten stars. There are far better and more encompassing Thai dramas available out there.
