As Barack Obama is inaugurated as the President of the United States, beneath the deserted streets of Washington D.C., two groups of spies, known only by the names of the Great Arcana of the Tarot try to kill each other and escape from an inescapable facility, while their managers watch it all on television.
Why are they doing it? I expect because it's all very symbolic. I really am not terribly interested in what this symbolizes, because there's a strong sexual component to the mayhem, with the men using their hands and legs to strike, while the women use various phallic symbols. That, of course, is for the kinks in the audience. The true symbolism, the real symbolism, the important symbolism remains obscure to me because it all tries too hard.
With a bunch of actors who should have known better but could probably use the work.

Maybe It's Symbolic Of How Symbolism Doesn't Work
Much ado about nothing
If you consider the talent (in front of the camera) at hand, you would be excused expecting something really good. Instead you get something that is neither good nor really bad for that matter. But is it worth renting (or even buying)?
I wouldn't recommend the latter (unless there are some real nice extras on the disc). Plus look out for the "extended" version. Though I'm not sure, if the one scene really makes that much of a difference. Not too mention that it won't really hook you emotionally. Odette Y. might be able to do that with the male viewers, but only for so long. Even some back-story does not really translate onto the screen.
Overall it feels a bit forced. And the comedy timing seems off most of the time. Even with guys who actually know their stuff. Seems like it has been underwritten after all. Still some nice things can be discovered and if you have a heart for small budget movies, you might find it kinda funny ... more than most viewers.
Enjoyable movie, but could have used more comedy...
When I sat down to watch "Operation: Endgame" (aka "Rogues Gallery") I had no idea at all what the movie was about. The reason why I wanted to watch it was because of the people on the cast list.
I found out that this was an action comedy, although I will admit that the movie is more lenient towards the action as it towards comedy. The comedy is there, yes, but it is fairly subtle but straight to the point.
The story is about a group of government assassins who work in a secret underground compound. The assassins are known only by the names from the Tarot card deck. And when new assassin, The Fool, arrives for his first work day, the boss of the operation is killed and operation: endgame is initiated, giving the assassins only limited time to escape the compound. But some assassins have been given secret targets to kill, and with nowhere to run, whom can you trust? I will say that the storyline was entertaining, albeit a bit silly.
There is nothing in the movie to make you buy into it, and as such it does come off as a comedy on the action genre. The storyline is simplistic and easy to follow, requiring you to disable your brain and just sit back and enjoy the ride.
Although working with fairly two-dimensional characters, there was an impressive list of people to be found on the cast list here.
For a comedy, then "Operation: Endgame" didn't really deliver that much impact, and if you enjoy these type of covert government operation comedies, then there are some better choices available. But still, "Operation: Endgame" is worth a watch for about 87 minutes worth of entertainment that doesn't require you to bring along your brain.
