Impact Earth is amateurish and poor in all aspects, though Caitlin Carver beautiful. She should be everybody's assistant.
It's bad, television drama level, from the effects to acting, dialouge and the story's tired. Tim goes back with his wife at the end, because he's a hero now? That's a bad message, but furthermore... Are You Insane!!! Not to mention the crazy guy who wants to kick them out of their own bunker, mid trying to save the world, that seemed necessary. Berenger woeful too.
Plot summary
A former NASA asteroid tracker discovers a looming asteroid collision that could send it on a collision-course with Earth. Because he made a wrong call ten years earlier that cost him his career, nobody at NASA will listen to him when he starts raising the waning flags. Desperate to alert the public, and now certain of a collision, he and his student assistant publish a video telling the world about this looming danger. He gathers his family and his student assistant and they begin a journey towards a fall-out shelter owned by his old mentor over 100 miles away. When meteors tear up the highway they're driving on and nearly get them killed, they have to take the rest of the journey by foot through a dark forest filled with unexpected dangers. The journey will bring this family closer than ever as they try to get to safety before it's too late.

Hillbillies still top of the food chain.
Just another generic run-of-the-mill disaster movie...
Well, this 2015 movie titled "Impact Earth" is a disaster movie in every sense of that meaning. And with that in mind, you know what you are getting in for when you sit down to watch "Impact Earth" from director Rex Piano.
"Impact Earth" has a pretty straight forward storyline, one that is every bit laughable as it is unrealistic. And a movie such as "Impact Earth" is as generic and predictable as it comes when talking disaster movies, and it is impressive that writers E.M. McCoy, Jonathan Stathakis and Cory Tynan manage to create something that is just another copy-paste of essentially every other mainstream disaster movie ever made.
What astounds me in movies such as "Impact Earth" is how natural disaster phenomena always seem to home in and focus on the select few main protagonists of the movie; and such is the case in this 2015 movie as well. Amazing how so many asteroids can impact in so close vicinity of that family, and yet leave the rest of the surrounding environment unscathed.
And you know you have a mainstream generic disaster movie on your hand when, and surprise surprise, the entire world is saved by the laughable heroic stunts by a single family. And just to add insult to injury, the way that the family saves the world is just so wonderfully idiotic that even a 1st grader could have mustered up a similar concept idea.
Visually then "Impact Earth" wasn't actually all that bad. Sure, this wasn't top of the line CGI, but it was adequate. Personally, I prefer more realistic-looking special effects in movies such as these, but the majority of disaster movies seem to have subpar CGI and special effects.
The acting in the movie was adequate, though you shouldn't go setting yourself up for stellar acting performances in the movie. I was surprised to see Tom Berenger in a movie such as this though.
If you enjoy disaster movies, then "Impact Earth" is not really one that I would recommend you rush out to watch, as there are far better and more enjoyable disaster movies readily available. My rating of this 2015 disaster movie ultimately settles on a four out of ten rating, once the dust from the many localized asteroid impacts have settled.
Another disaster film."
This is a film that has the unoriginal concept of Asteroid about to hit Earth along with various staples plot devices of these type of films, such as disgraced scientist no one will believe when he (and a assistant in this one) see the oncoming disaster. Looting/Crime just before disaster, a last minute scheme to save the day and an danger fraught trip to a safe place to hide out. The film also goes off in strange tangents from drunken louts following the heroes group, to romance between assistant and hero still pining for his wife who kicked him out and he's taking to his shelter with their son, a man and his daughter stalking them in the woods before saving them, then holding them hostage, then space pool with one asteroid knocked into the one about to hit Earth, deflecting it and saving the day. Although many smaller asteroids caused destruction across the US, while still coming close to our heroes very specific area of countryside and woods.
