The great joy of watching, or reading, a mystery, thriller, or psychological what-not is what we believe the outcome will be...and what it actually is. We think of the 'clues' the incidents that should lead to the eventual conclusion, the confusions, the misconceptions... 'Hide and Seek' is exasperating. You can guess along with the muddling plot and actions. You try to go along with it...You try to find logical conclusions..... Not this time!!! The plot meanders all over the place, and it is not a spolier to say.....'What the hell is going on'? We are left with questions that only indicate that somewhere along the line, an hour of plotwas losston the editing room. Who? What? When? Where? Why? How? I defy you to answer the basics.

The South Korean murder mystery/thriller HIDE AND SEEK is a fine and engrossing little film so I recommend interested parties to check it out. As for this American remake, well, don't bother. They take away all the good stuff and leave a dull and confused, not to mention senseless, B-movie in its wake. Meyers walks around vapidly, the mystery thickens but nobody cares, and the whole thing feels like an exercise in amateur dramatics.

Noah (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) who is painfully neat, inherits his father's hotel empire. There is a catch. He has a half brother who is also an heir. The unkempt Jacob has been spotted living in a condemned building in the Queens. Noah goes out of his comfort zone to locate his brother.

I didn't like the film. There is a killer who we discover the identity at an hour. It didn't make much sense. I felt I missed something by the time it was over.
