Give me your gun so I can shoot your police captain boss. The whole movie was just full of crap, stupid plots and lines. I lost count how many time the detective gave up his gun to the killer, even inside the interrogation room. Guys, don't watch this POS, it's honestly the worst movie I have ever seen. Please give the movie director a dick of the year award.

DARKNESS FALLS is an extremely weak Hollywood thriller that feels like a cheapo indie with a better cast than normal. The long-winded and surprisingly small-scale storyline barely goes anywhere, offering a weak and unimposing serial killer team of father and son. That the father is played by veteran bad guy Gary Cole is the best thing about this otherwise amateurish production. Shaun Ashmore knows the genre inside out, having starred in THE KILLING, but he's given little to work with here in a film with bad writing and direction and a real lack of narrative cohesion. Don't expect any suspense, either. It's lame-brained stuff, a test of the viewer's tolerance for ineptitude.

In the opening scene, Elizabeth is murdered and made to look like suicide. Her husband is Jeff (Shawn Ashmore) a detective on the LA police force. He is obsessed with the idea it was murder and is out to find the killers. There is a rash of similar suicides in LA.

The plot was rather haphazard and lazy. I thought Daniella Alonso gave a good performance as his boss, a substitute for the typically obese black man who swears and yells unintelligible words. No swagger.
