In Jacksonville a killing goes bad as they didn't get Kane (Tavares Walker) but it did make his hair stand up. Kane gets revenge and kills Black, the brother of a rival gang. I assume they sell drugs as in most scenes they are sitting around counting the same paper over and over again. It is time for crime films to come with something new. This sets off a string of killings.
The acting was bad, women and children were the worst. Camera work needed help. Plot and dialogue not up to par either. Big chicks at a strip club with bikinis rolling around on the stage. Using ammonia to clean up blood instead of Chlorax.
Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
Plot summary
Crutch hires his brother Black to kill his friend Kane. Crutch takes Kane's cash and becomes king of the streets. Not realizing he killed the wrong guy, Black is kidnapped and becomes the first pawn to come off the board. Kane's revenge is a dish best served cold. How cold? So cold, Crutch thinks he's eating, but how can he win when he doesn't even know Kane's playing with his life? Black's death turns Crutch paranoid and he orders his crew to put their allies in check. His greed has him with two queens and killing one is his next move. Chess is a war over the board with the object being to crush the opponent's mind. Kane goes overboard with his game of revenge and tries setting Crutch up for checkmate.

That's your Daddy!
Nothing new
This was a respectable amateur effort in almost every aspect. The story is okay but not great... not as clever as the apparent attempt due to cliché devices we've seen enougha, and no relatableor admirable characters. Good thing there are never any cops around (cops add a lot to the budget, but for this story maybe there should have been some?)
The dialog seemed well written and might have played better with more experienced lead actors. The slow burn of the plot makes it hard to stay interested; with no tension build, the action was relatively unexciting. Sound is decently done, cinematography, editing and direction passable.
What could have been.
Needs more heart! This movie fiercely wants to be like Belly, and with cinematography and a feel like Belly I think it meets that mark, but it sadly misses the mark of Belly's emotion and meaning.
This story feels either rushed or every second of backstory capable of breathing life into the characters was cut out in editing. It is difficult to care for characters that lack passion, and matters aren't helped by the sometimes emotionless acting. Some events that are intended to be serious end up landing as cheesy and slightly laughable, but I would not say that this movie is "so bad it is good", more like, "It is not worth doing reshoots to fix this movie, just drop a few scenes and add narration to give the characters depth and it could be something".
I don't regret watching this even though I couldn't invest myself in any character no matter how hard I tried. I don't see a cult following happening out of this.
2.5 stars when I focus on the bad. 5 stars for what could have been.
