Quite funny

Were this movie released today, it would be the subject of a lot of ire. After botching his proposal, Cuba's character ends up suddenly single and depressed. After this goes on for some time, his friend convinces him to go on a singles cruise. After angering the travel agent that books their trip, they end up on a gay cruise. This is where the straight, gorgeous dance teacher comes in and instantly catches the main character's interest. There are a lot of anti-gay jokes here, but nothing hateful is said. I guess your level of ire depends on how sensitive a person you are. Funny movie, however probably a low point in Cuba's career.

fantastic

I did like this movie as i thought it was very funny. This movie was made in 2002, starring of course the James Bond actor Roger moore. I think he is a great actor. I give this movie 10 out of 10. Thank you Sir Roger Moore for all the great fantastic movies you have made.

Will You Survive?

Although funny in spots Boat Trip falls back on a whole lot of clichés involving gay people to tell a rather dreary tale.

Two lunkheads, Horatio Sanz and Cuba Gooding, Jr. get into a fight with a travel agent who decides he'll have the last laugh. He books them on a singles cruise all right, a gay singles cruise, not at all what they were expecting.

Sanz has talked Gooding into it after Gooding has decided he needs some space away from his fiancé Viveca Fox.

If this had been done thirty years ago I can see Laurel and Hardy as the leads here. Of course stuff about homosexuality wasn't exactly being done in Stan and Ollie's day. Problem is that Sanz and Gooding just don't have a real gift for comedy that was needed.

There is a rather droll performance in here by Roger Moore who plays a lecherous and rich old gay guy. It's the highlight of the film.

Sad, but unfortunately Boat Trip falls back on too many clichés about gay people in its attempts at humor. Noel Coward was definitely not writing this material.

I for one, don't know, don't want to know the words to I Will Survive and I don't mourn the death of disco. I don't know that many who do.

Still there are a few laughs to be had in Boat Trip, but they're few and far between.
