Some segments are better than others

Some segments are better than others. The Jim Sturgess segment about the car is interesting and funny. The Helen Mirren one with a refugee kid is touching. Mickey Rourke segment is oddly fascinating. The laundromat segment about female empowerment is original. Jenna Dewan shows a little of her dance skills.

The city doesn't look great in this movie showing mostly the grim modern side. Too many characters a bit hard to follow. Some won't like this but I still found it an okay watch.

Quite entertaining! Surprisingly good! Bravo!

Please don't believe the rate of this film! Watch it first! The movie is about a bunch of couple's love stories in Berlin city! All the dialogues are funny enough to make you laugh! I can point out one! Conversation of the Mickey Rourke couple: The female say a male should buy a drink for a lady first, and then the male reply, the female should kiss him first! Really is a good flirting skill! Lol! The only boring one, is Keira Knightley and her mother's scene! Entire film have two nudity scene! And all couple had a good happy ending! This is a must watch romance film!

Too many threads spoil this Tapestry

My Review- Berlin I Love You - My Rating 5/10 This movie has moments but too many threads that don't connect unravel this film tapestry. I reviewed "Emily in Paris " recently where the City of Paris was the back drop for a great ensemble cast to tell their story living in a famous International destination with cultural differences and it worked for me . "Berlin I Love You " didn't work for me at all even though the "ensemble" is more famous but in my view just don't connect . I enjoyed the story of Jane and Margaret a mother and daughter played by Helen Mirren and Keira Knightley who seem to be in some conflict over judgement and control when Margaret drops off a little Syrian refugee boy for food and shelter for her Mum to care for overnight. It left me wanting to see more development I could see a whole movie in that one little 12 minute story approximate time story. Berlin, I Love You is an anthology collection of vignettes starring an ensemble cast. that Includes Helen Mirren as Margaret Keira Knightley as Jane Mickey Rourke as Jim Diego Luna as Drag Queen Jim Sturgess as Jared Dianna Agron as Katarina Rafaëlle Cohen as Sara Jenna Dewan as Mandy Toni Garrn as Heather Sibel Kekilli as Yasil Hannelore Elsner as Madame Rose Robert Stadlober as Damiel Emily Beecham as Hannah Luke Wilson as Burke Linz Charlotte Le Bon as Rose Iwan Rheon as Greg Nolan Gerard Funk as Nico Julia Dietze as Tania Nikolai Kinski as Alister Alexander Black as Selim Sylvester Groth as Frosch Veronica Ferres as Else Max Raabe as himself Carol Schuler as Laila. Nafsika Pan as Sophie Kostas Sommer as Agent Pheline Roggan as Anne. Yvonne Maria Schäfer as Janis Jake Webber as Artemis Serac Too many characters , Too many plot lines , as soon as I got interested they ended and no connection again . I learnt a new term today to describe this genre in movie making it's called Hyperlink coined by Alissa Quart in her review of the film Happy Endings, the term 'Hyperlink Cinema' is an umbrella expression that has gained popularity for films "in which the characters inhabit separate stories, but (we) gradually discover how those in one story are connected to those in another Berlin I Love You to my mind is not Hyperlink as the characters and plot are completely separate it would have been better in my opinion with less plot and character and more connecting threads. Berlin I Love You is a joint German and U.S. production, it serves as an installment of the Cities of Love, series created by Emmanuel Benbihy.
