Nifty horror anthology

Radio disc jockey Rod Wilson (smmothly played by James Wright) hosts a popular horror-themed late night show. On a dark and stormy night Rod receives strange calls from a scared little boy who desperately asks for help.

The stories featured herein are as follows: An invisible woman goes on a rampage (strong opener),a little girl takes a photograph of a dead girl (marvelously unsettling),a vain celebrity gets special treatment from a hair stylist (spot-on nasty punchline),a Spanish dancer is terrorized by a demon (solid),a little girl encounters a creepy smiling monster in her kitchen (another supremely unnerving tale),a redneck hunts a naked woman in the woods (great gory twist at the end),a young woman faces off against a demonic home invader (strictly so-so),and Rod Wilson turns out to be a very bad man (cool and genuinely surprising). A gnarly omnibus opus.

Death is how we make a living

Rod (James Wright ) hosts a late night call in for horror stories in Maryanna. He tells stories as does his guest callers. The tales consist of about 9 or 10 short features. These tales lacked the twists of "Creep Show" style stories and were definitely second tier. Note the 1980's period of the radio station and TV. Babcock Furniture advertises VCRs while some folks in the tales have cell phones. He speaks of the Internet.

If you get bored, you can always skip to the next feature.

Guide: No F-word. Nudity.

There's a middle ground

I totally understand if someone is not really on board with a film and sees a high rating that they immediately go the exact opposite route (or vice versa if you think a rating is way too low and you just plain dug a movie). But as I stated above there is a middle ground. And with an anthology movie you most likely have a mixture of stories - some will grip and some won't.

In some instances you might be love everything or hate everything of course, but if you remain open minded, you probably will select the stories/things you liked and the ones you didn't. And while life is probably not a box of chocolate (man that sugar rush would be quite something wouldn't it?),you can be assured that you will get a mixture of things. So while the quality may vary (I especially liked the spanish language one here to give one example, although even that had some minor things I disliked),this overall is more than a decent effort! If you are into horror short stories/anthologies that is
