I sat down to watch the 2020 action comedy "Chi Muoi Ba 2: 3 Ngay Sinh Tu" (aka "13th Sister Three Deadly Days") here in 2021. I hadn't even heard about the movie, nor seen a trailer or anything, so I virtually didn't know what I was in for here, aside from it being a Vietnamese movie.
But I do enjoy Asian movies, so of course I opted to sit down and watch what writers Bong Bot Binh, Vo Thanh Hoa and Thu Trang had to offer with this movie.
While this movie from director Vo Thanh Hoa was watchable, I must admit that most of the storyline didn't make much sense to me, as I had no idea whom the characters were or what their motivations were. So the writing for the movie was a bit on the tame side, not offering much of a proper storyline or characters.
"Chi Muoi Ba 2: 3 Ngay Sinh Tu" doesn't bring anything new to the action comedy, so the things you see here has been done in other movies of the same type, more often than not to a much better result or extend.
Needless to say that I wasn't familiar with the cast that starred in this movie, as I am not well-traversed in the Vietnamese cinema. But people were doing adequate enough jobs with their given roles.
"Chi Muoi Ba 2: 3 Ngay Sinh Tu" felt like a somewhat rushed and superficial action comedy, with almost no comedy elements to it, so you're not in for an astounding movie experience here. And if you enjoy Asian movies, then there are far better similar movies out there.
My rating of "Chi Muoi Ba 2: 3 Ngay Sinh Tu" lands on a three out of ten stars.
