David, a teenager goes out to the Montana wilderness to spend time with his outdoors living father, Cal. They plan to shoot a moose which would be David's first kill. Cal hunts not for sport but because he needs the meat to live on.

David is reluctant to shoot the beast. His dad tells him hunting stories of his own childhood in order to connect with David. However David's hand is injured by a bear cub and Cal injures himself in a shooting accident rendering him unable to walk.

Both father and son need to survive the snow and the wilds of Montana and to get help in time as Cal is bleeding badly.

Walking Out is a wilderness survival story of the boy learning to become a man with breathtaking photography but a low wattage story.

It takes a while for the story to kick in and it all feels downbeat. The dad really should had listened to his son, he did not want to go hunting!

Okay movie but could have been a lot better. When do you see that much bear activity during the winter months?

Something needs done about these movies critics who take money to give bad films good reviews. This is a unrealistic, boring and just plain bad flim.
