Honest and moving
A straightforward look at racism in America and how we got to where we are. Even more interesting when seen through the lens of the BLM protests and marches of 2020. I enjoyed it and learned from it.
Intimate, authentic and moving
If you're looking for a sweeping documentary that covers race and slavery in America, there are obviously other options. This is one family's story. And it's told quite well. His step father is outstanding. He nails every single take, and his perspective alone makes this worth watching.
