Not As Good As Expected

Mistakenly believed this was a Documentary about Cyber Security and Cyber War. Instead, this "movie" was briefly about Cyber Incidents involving Iran and North Korea. Then the next hour of the movie was a tired excuse / rationalization of the Democratic Party Presidential Election loss in the 2016 Election due to alleged and still unproven Cyber Interference. The final 15 minutes about the continuing threat of the Chinese Government continuing to steal Intellectual Property while becoming a Cyber menace to the World was also interesting.

This Documentary would have been a lot stronger if it skipped the political commentary by Political Hacks and focused more on Cyber Security and potential Cyber Threats in the future.

Not bad.

As a cyber security aficionado but not a professional, I really liked this. I've read about pretty much all of these attacks, but it was good to see the government's perspective on what was going on.

Wish there was a little more technical information, but it's not as vague as it could've been.

Another manufactured propaganda hit piece

Don't be fooled by the title nor the beginning content. This documentary is just another hit piece and I'll prove it. The majority of the documentaries released by Netflix work this way. It is not made to inform you, it is made to steer and direct your thoughts.

The show, poised as a documentary, follows the same pattern: 1) First establish the "thing", fear concern, etc. That's the whole point of of the first 50% to 75% of the show is to establish in you some fear, concern; it's exploitation, it's the setup.

2) Then at around the 50% to 75% mark, pivot that built up emotion into a target. On to the real the target, the whole real purpose of the production.

3) Then for the rest of the show attack the real target of the deceptive show. Attack, attack, attack. "See, it's the target's fault, see, see?"

In this case it should be no surprise that the target is yet again President Donald Trump. It's as simple as that. A deceptive political narrative intended to negativly influence the audience.

Also very leftist in origin, former President Barry Obama could do no wrong according to it. In reality nothing could be further from the truth. Barry did next to nothing while even the show points out from the timeline the worst cyber attacks on the USA occurred during his presidency. No doubt he knew about all this going on and he did next to nothing in his entire eight years about it. The most one can recall is in 2015 he gave the Chinese a slap on the wrist. A double dog dare line in the sand that they kept crossing because they knew Barry was all about political optics, and no action.

The whole point of my review is to point out this kind of deception in yet another so called "documentary" political hit piece. There seems to be endless dollars to produce these. As if to say "hey, if you got a good hit piece we got deep pockets.." Where is the money coming from?
