from normal to dark

This one isn't that simple to review because I would spoil it all. It doesn't have any suspense at all because you know exactly what is going to happen .

But it's the way he does it and how he does it that makes you being attached towards the screen. Perfect acting, perfect casting. What looks like a happy life slowly turns into a dark story.

Weird, you do know where this one is going and still you want to know how it ends, not bad at all.

Evil

Spanish thrillers are quite something. The moral code might feel off for many and there is quite the wrongness to a lot of things happening. But the moviemakers do not judge, they just tell. And sometimes that means as a viewer you don't know which direction the movie is going.

Also it is quite evil to make us feel sorry for a character who is not "good" by a long shot. Having said, the story is quite entertaining and our main character is intriguing. We get his struggle, but do we also get his decisions and actions? That is up to you to decide ... but the movie itself is really having you on the edge of your seat. Someone wrote the movie him anxiety ... without even reading the whole context, I totally get it. This is not easy and mostly not pleasant (in a traditional sense)

Lights are on but nobody is home....

Unfortunately, there are so many things wrong with the narrative here that I just about gave up half way through... Javier Muñoz is an advertising executive who loses his job and his home. His confidence is truly shaken when he realises that he will not easily get another, and insult becomes injury when he is offered a six month unpaid internship. That appears to tip him over the edge and he starts to stalk the owners of his former home. Why? Well, maybe he has sociopathic tendencies (suddenly?) or maybe he is just a nasty piece of work, or both? The other cast (particularly Bruna Cusí) are no less likeable or trustworthy - indeed their shallowness is so overpowering as to instil a positive dislike in them altogether. The two Pastor brothers have created a phycological thriller that has nothing for us, the audience, to get a grip of. We lurch from one implausible scenario to another like Johnny Weissmuller grabs vines to swing from; and the noises he made back in the 1940s jungle might just make more sense!
