A Bumpy Tour

Did you love the suspense of the original movie "The Hitcher"? If so you may want to seek out "The Millionaire Tour". I say seek because it isn't a movie you've likely heard of. That's not bad in this case as it is quite decent and keeps you on edge much like The Hitcher did. I only mention The Hitcher because it was a modest movie with edginess that rose above it's humbleness, and so does "The Millionaire Tour".

This movie starts out with a simple, quite possible, premise where a man and woman duo, working for a person deemed to be a prominent criminal called "The Roman", hijack a taxi and it's hand-picked occupant. The occupant is himself a con-man who has committed some big-time wrongs to people who don't go down without seeking revenge...or is he? As lower-rung criminals will do the kidnappers are a bit greedy: they employ a graft called "the millionaire tour" to extract as much from their target as possible before handing him over to the man. Things get complicated adding to the suspense mightily.

What you have here is a well-crafted thriller. It seethes and builds on the humble plot it has employed. In other words, a spartan movie that rises above the low-budget with its fine screenplay and good characterizations by those involved. Speaking of the cast, you may have seen several of the main players as they're highly photogenic, but it is likely you will recognize only one by name, Dominic Monaghan. Dominic has had some high-profile roles, the best known has to be playing the character of Simon in Lost. He's a good character actor - in that realm it is knocking on being A-list status. He doesn't disappoint here. The supporting cast, while unknown in name, deliver their character's roles in excellent fashion too. When given the chance I'm always amazed at what relatively unknown creative people can achieve when presented a worthy palate.

If you like slow building suspenseful movies then this one is a no-brainer as it better than many big budget fiascoes whose suspense is based on explosions and body counts.

TERRORISTS NEVER READ HARRY POTTER

This is a semi-faith based film. Religion and faith play a small role. A well dressed Greg (Jordan Belfi) is picked up by a cab driver at the airport. The cab ends up picking up two more fares, Caspar (Dominic Monaghan) and Billie Boy (Agnes Bruckner). They take him on the "millionaire tour" which is a trip to various ATMs until his credit cards max out. Afterwards they are to take the man to meet "The Roman."

The film consists most of dialogue between Greg, his captors, and Eddie the cab driver (Dave Vescio) interrupted by pieces of action. The crooks have a sense of humor which keeps things going, plus you know there is going to be a twist...or two. Fairly tight script with some fair acting.

PARENTAL GUIDE: F-bomb, no sex or nudity.

An excellent mystery/thriller that will keep you gripped from start to finish.

This film is a web release movie only, which is probably the reason why there is hardly any information about it plus zero reviews.

I watched this last night as it was premiering on Sky Movies, The fact that I knew nothing about the film was the reason why I wanted to watch it....so I had no preconceived ideas about what to expect. I have decided to write this short review as I cannot find any-other reviews out there and I believe this film needs to watched.

I'm not going to go into any detail about what happens as I think it would spoil the enjoyment, but what I will say is that it's a very good film indeed. It starts well (well enough to keep me watching, as my patience with films these days runs very thin) and ends strongly indeed. It's tense, gripping and enthralling. I was enjoying this film so much that halfway through I began to worry that the ending would be a letdown, it certainly wasn't, if anything it goes up another gear. It's very rare these days that the endings of films live up to the rest of the film, however,in this case it certainly did....and then some.

The cast is extremely strong, it would be wrong of me to highlight a particular performance as all principal actors/actress were on top form. I would like to say though that Dominic Monaghan particularly stood out for me as I have never seen him play this type of character before.

Apologies for the vague review but I don't want to give anything away as i believe too much information would dampen your enjoyment.
