I like these tangled films, although I always get lost among the countless characters, here it occurs less often, probably due to the outlined, sad and melancholic stories ... Some funny scenes, to lessen our little heart in the midst of so many painful and painful situations ... Very cute and happy, Christmas atmosphere ...

Clara and her two sons escape from her abusive husband with little more than their car and plan to start over in New York. After the car towed away, the family meets Alice, who gets them into an emergency shelter. While stealing food at a Russian restaurant called 'Winter Palace', Clara meets Marc, who has been given the chance to help the old eatery regain its former glory. The 'Winter Palace' soon becomes a place of unexpected encounters between people who are all undergoing some sort of crisis and whom fate has now brought together.

Lone Sherfig directs this wonderful story that is not far fetched. The mom and two boys run from violent dad, a cop. They meet Tahar Rahim who is managing a Russian restaurant. The lawyer friend of Tahar's takes Zoe's case and wins. Her husband goes to jail. Bravo. I could watch Zoe Kazan read the phone book. Now I discover Tahar Rahim is also a great actor. Enjoyed this film. Even minor characters are interesting like the nurse and the lawyer. Bill Nighy is great to see also.
