Well, I had just finished reading the entire Death and Return of Superman comics from the early 90s and felt I should see the animated version. Well, it did not disappoint. Things I look for in a good animation? The voice acting was superb... second to none. The animation? Very good. I really appreciated the look and feel of this animation style. Nicely done, looked great.

Now, how is the story? Well, I felt it was done really well. They definitely changed a ton around from the comics... from the members of justice league who fought Doomsday to the relationship between Lois and Clark. But were the changes good? Yes, I think so. I personally don't mind when an animated feature or movie doesn't slavishly copy the source material but tries something new... which this does. Lots of stuff has been changed around to fit in the under 3 hours run time. But it definitely is a great remix of the original story. I feel they kept many of the best parts of the comic and engineered the story to fit modern times and the animation medium quite well.

It's a well done animation and I really enjoyed it. Well done, DC.

This was sooo bad ass i love this movie, great action.

The first half is better than the second death of Superman is much truer to it's source material than reign of the Supermen is. Spends too much time on Clark and Lois's relationship. I get it trying to establish their characters for casual fans but fans who know and love the source material will be slightly disappointed. Huge props to Rain Wilson who is perfect as Lex Luthor. Which is a huge departure from the source. Luthor is part of the story but it's Luthor Jr. Doomsday looks like he's supposed unlike the live action where he looks like a cave troll lord of the rings ripoff and there are logic errors. Reign of the Supermen is a huge departure from the source material namely Darkseid is the main antagonist which yes Henshaw does eventually run into him in the books but not in reign of the Supermen the visor Superman is vastly different each of these could have easily been 2 - 2 1/2 hours each but alas that's not what DC did here. Overall though enjoyable and yes much better than both Batman vs. Superman and Justice League
