This movie is pretty bad.

It looks beautiful. The camera work, the sound and the effects are all very high production value-wise. So the crew did great.

Some of the actors are pretty good, however some are so wooden and one note that it makes it very boring. Some of the actors say literally every single line the same wooden way. Nobody reacts to learning anything new.

Then we get to the worst thing about the movie. The writing. OMG. Was it a grown man who wrote this? Feels more like a twelve year old who thinks they're going to write the best movie ever, by including aspects of a hundred much better movies. It's just kind of ridiculous. It's almost like he finished his script, had only sixty pages so decided to add in a bunch of scenes of bs. Lol.

And so many examples of bad writing in this. One example would be when the possessed girl is in front of the church congregation and she's like "I must confess. I killed myself, it wasn't God. I cut my own wrists." The crowd hushes in shock, then she says "But then it was God after that and real stigmata. Terrible writing. Why not have scenes earlier in the movie that show her depressed before the stigmata happens? Make us wonder if it's real or if she's faking. Why not scenes where she feels guilty because she attempted suicide, so we wonder if she's going to tell everyone. When you just have her do it out of the blue it just doesn't make any sense. And it's stupid.

There are so many examples of the same thing. Random things happen with no buildup, so you just don't have a chance to care. It's silly. It's a fail in the most basic parts of script writing.

The elderly woman dies and they just leave her body in the field for the rest of the movie? HAHAH! Really? I guess you could call it symbolic. Symbolizing how silly the script is?

Or the random demon who shows up? They bring in this very interesting demon character. Give him two small scenes, and then he's gone. She shoots him in the head. And when people come and get her, they help her away from the demons body on the ground, and nobody questions why there's a demon body on the ground next to her. They just ignore it?

I could point out a hundred of these stupid things. Just awful.

I was very impressed with this movie and cast. I can see why they are winning awards. The movie was a supernatural thriller that just kept surprising me and had me on the edge of my seat with goosebumps. I'll be watching it again and definitely recommend to others.

Worst movie I ever had the displeasure to sit through.
