Better than 2012

This was much better than I expected. It actually had an idea and a structure. It provided the "theory" that was missing from the much more extravagant 2012.

The ending not only tied the plot together, but gave a nice finishing touch to the story's hero. And the hero of the story was much more appealing than the self-righteous know-it-all that they typically feature in this type of movie.

If this movie had more impressive special effects and more style, it would be a superior version of the 2012 film. It is a mystery to me how 2012 got made without a real plot, but this movie that actually has a plot got made on such a small budget.

To many logical breaches.

The story in it self could have potential, but did not quite do it for me.First of all, where was the body discovered? I did not see that any archeologists found any human remains. And how did the surveillancecamera mounted on top of the Stonehenge survive the EMP's, when it manage to drain the power of two cars later in the film? To many sloppy mistakes in the script concerning these minor details.

I also think that there were too many clichés about the American military and that the commanders must be irrational and close to stupid to lead the most powerful militaryforce in the world. I agree with some others in here that the acting sometimes were good, but also very bad by some actors as well. I give the movie a plus for trying as hard as possible to sty serious throughout the movie.

Surprisingly entertaining Syfy movie

I was sceptical of seeing this movie as in all honesty while I do watch them out of curiosity to say I am not a fan of Syfy's output is an understatement. But while it was far from perfect, for Syfy it was actually surprisingly entertaining. Stonehenge Apocalypse does have its faults, some of the script is quite poor with one too many logical lapses, and while I was taken with the idea of the story and it starts off well some of the middle is pedestrian in pace and some scenes do drag on a bit with perhaps too much talk. The pace is uneven, with a middle that does drag, and there are some inconsistencies in the direction. However, the effects for a Syfy are not too bad, not award-worthy but I appreciated that they weren't as crude as some other Syfy projects, while the sets and photography are reasonably good. The characters once you warm to the lead character are at least likable, and the acting is pretty decent which is an achievement considering I have known that particular asset especially to be severely lacking in previous adventures with Syfy. The story is intriguing, and starts and ends well, it's the middle that isn't so good. All in all, not great but it could have been worse. 6/10 Bethany Cox
