Very slanted by the children or maybe they are poor story tellers

THESE ARE MY IMPRESSIONS The very first thing that struck me was that I couldn't tell the difference between Anne & Jackie in their older bodies, both grey haired. Had the names been captioned below them, that would have helped immensely. Anne married Cliff Edwards and was the dark haired young woman and Jackie was blond. Anne, part of the band, married Cliff and retired to raise their family. When the Bells toured, after Anne left, the crowd thought Cliff and Jackie were together because of the chemistry they had on stage. There was no mentione whose idea it was to buy a farm. I got the impression Cliff didn't care for it since he would take breaks of 2 weeks from touring & then head off again on new engagements. Also, when he was forced to take responsibiltiy for the family by Anne (leaving the family) he sold the farm and moved them to Gananoque. During his visits Anne said it would take him 3 days to come off the adulation high. Anne eventually seemed overwhelmed by the farm & family routine & admitted she felt lonely given the few appearances by Cliff. Cliff Edwards was a very controlling personality when he was with the Bells since the film said he wanted to wear all the hats in the making of records and for stage performances. He left the Bells & took his family on tour with him for his solo career in the summers. The film gave no timeline for when Anne felt burned-out and had to leave the family. She said she thought the children should stay with the farm but Cliff moved the family away from it. The film did not say what happened to Anne but only that she had little contact with the children. I got the impression the children blamed her for leaving. Then Cliff finally stepped up to look after them but he got no blame for abandoning them under Anne's care when they were young. I got the impression that Anne felt worse when the family toured with Cliff on his solo career then when she was abandoned by him on the farm while he was touring. They grew apart? Cliff's controlling personality? A lot of times the film didn't caption who was who and the timelines were poor. The children showed significant animosity towards their mother and little to their father. My impression was the other way around. The teen years are the most angry ones for children and this is probably why they sided with dad. We don't know what demons Anne was fighting? At the end of this documentary, the 5 Bells were together, seemingly without animosity and Anne & Jackie still seemed like best friends. I felt i knew less about them at the end of the documentary them when i started. The only thing i figured out was i didn't like Cliff.
