I cannot believe the 10/10 reviews saying kids loved this. I watched a show like this back in 1980 that was Canadian low budget called Read All About It, and that was better than this. If this was a high school project, then right on. If it was anything else, then it was ultra amateur, at best.

Plot summary
On a school trip at the local museum, class troublemaker Scott Collins experiences a bizarre psychic connection with one of its artifacts - a skull. The creepy skull allows him to for-see his grandmother's death. Of course, nobody believes him, passing it off as one of his usual tales. But after gran dies suddenly, his younger sister, Trish, for whom he shares a mutual contempt, is stunned to learn that her brother's premonition was true. With both parents out of work and their house on the verge of foreclosure, Scott, still affected by the powers of the skull, convinces his family to accept employment as caretakers for a large Victorian house in the countryside. When they arrive they meet the owner, Trelawney, a seemingly normal man with one exception - he has the ability to speak to Scott telepathically. Scott soon discovers that the cursed skull holds the key to both of their futures.

Good fun
Kids loved this film - not a film for adults but anyone over the age of 6 will love it plus adults who haven't grown up. Some good comedy from 2 of the adult cast. Can recommend as a family film for everyone to watch
Pretty much everything that is wrong with an amateur production.
I really couldn't sit all the way through this film. The dialogue delivery was deadpan, or inappropriate. Too many close shots and you quickly realized that the sets were cheap, and poorly constructed. Bouncing from one setting to another to keep costs down just ruined any continuity. The sand where the skull was buried, while in a desert with compacted arid soil, was moist, highly silicate and grainy, and exceptionally loose. One poor camera angle after another with tight shots meant the conceal the cheapness of the setting, and locations killed any sense that location could have lent drama to the story. Stilted acting, lame dialogue, kids, and family that had no emotional context relating to the their dear grans death was another death knell. The story started with pretty much no story background to establish characters, or anything else. I can't imagine what kind of story boarding went into creating this mess. Is it meant to be a mystical movie, a family film, an adventure, or was it intended to be the mess it is. Lately There have been so many poor quality projects, this is yet another. I like B movies which manage to amuse us, even when unintentional. Sadly this is not amongst them.
