Completely crazy

Supposedly based on the same popular sci-fi novel by H. Rider Haggard which was made into a film in 1935 and 1965 (the latter starring Ursula Andress),but, according to those in the know, it has nothing to do with it (despite claiming otherwise). This is a batcrap crazy post-apocalyptic sci-fi starring Sandahl Bergman (Conan the Barbarian, Red Sonja, Hell Comes to Frogtown). I frequently joked during the movie that there was absolutely no plan as to where this movie was going. They were just making it up as they were going on. The actors would raid the costume and props departments and just come back with whatever weird stuff they could find. There's no other way to explain a giant, bearded man wearing a tutu and a gas mask. The (rather confusing) plot begins with two men (David Goss and Harrison Muller, Jr.) losing their sister to a group of crazy-looking men. They hear that the local goddess She (Bergman) knows where they're taking her, so they considerately kidnap her and make her lead them to their sister. Apparently each small settlement has their own god or goddess, a few of which we'll meet along the way. Accompanied by one of She's chief warriors (Quin Kessler),they make their way across the post-apocalyptic landscape and run into all sorts of zany tribes. One has a god named Godan who has telekinetic powers. The most memorable sequence in the film has an annoying Robin Williams impersonator named Xenon (David Traylor, who is a stand-up comedian who goes by the stage name David Zed) who, when you cut him into pieces, starfish-like, regenerates into multiple Xenons. Don't get me wrong, this movie is pretty terrible. But it plays out like a drug trip, and you'll definitely remember it. I'm really surprised I hadn't heard of it beforehand.

Craziest movie ever!

This is the craziest B-Movie I have ever seen, and I have seen a great deal of B-Movies.

The plot is fairly nonexistent. The movie makes much more sense if you approach it as a dream, just a bunch of random, seemingly disjointed events occurring in some sort of order.

For instance, the main character is a goddess, worshiped by her people, but they never explain or show any of her goddess powers and she seems to be injured very easily.

In one early scene she inexplicably has to battle her way through a cave full of cardboard boxes with various Boris Karloff style Frankenstein monsters hiding in them. (I think they had a sale at the local Halloween store)

She then has to travel across a post-apocalyptic landscape populated with antagonists ranging from Nazi football players who battle over boxes of cereal to psychotic barbarians in pink tutus living in plastic tents.

Anyone who considers themselves a connoisseur of B-Movies must watch this film. Basically the movie is so bad, it loops back around to become good again, then loops again to become bad, then FINALLY loops again to become one of the craziest, silliest, and zaniest movies in the history of cinema.

One of the most strange and hysterical of 80's post-nuke sci-fi/action flicks

Tough female warrior She (a spot-on fierce portrayal by Sandahl Bergman) helps two brothers rescue their kidnapped sister in a harsh post-apocalyptic world that's rife with all kinds of bizarre perils.

Writer/director Avi Nesher keeps the enjoyably barmy story moving along at a quick pace, stages the wild action with aplomb, maintains an engaging tongue-in-cheek tone throughout, and doesn't take any of the gloriously ridiculous tomfoolery evident throughout too seriously, as confirmed by the colorful and entertaining oddball folks who populate the wacky wasteland landscape who include werewolves, a psychic guy with a god complex who levitates people, mummy mutants, a hairy giant wearing a tutu (!),a Frankenstein monster robot whose head blows up real good, and, best of all, a goofy wisecracking bridge guard (a hilarious turn by David Traylor) who multiplies when you cut his head or limbs off. Moreover, David Goss as the hunky Tom and Harrison Muller as smartaleck Dick make for likeable heroes, Quin Kessler impresses as the feisty Shandra, and mighty muscleman Gordon Mitchell has a cool supporting part as orange-haired evil warlord Hector. The tacky (not so) special effects, a roaring rock soundtrack, and the garish sets and costumes further add to this film's considerable campy charm. A total loopy hoot.
