I caught SCENIC ROUTE on Amazon Prime under the title WRECKED. It's a simple low budget drama with big aspirations that follows the trials and tribulations of a couple of childhood friends now struggling to cope with the difficulties of adult life. Josh Dumahel and Dan Fogler play the buddies, but the bad news is that these guys epitomise everything annoying about modern society (and America in particular): an obsession with money, status, family and sex, not necessarily in that order. It's a film that consists of bickering and fighting in the desert, with the occasional fight or twist to try to keep you interested. I hated the shallow, self-centred characters and the actors didn't impress me much either.

Old friends Mitchell (Josh Duhamel) and Carter (Dan Fogler) take a ride cross country, or at least the desert. Carter is a "fat unemployed writer" while Mitchell is successful in finance with a wife and children. Carter pretends his vehicle is disabled (it's a Ford) so they can talk and get re-acquainted. The conversation turns nasty, and worse so when the Mitchell discovers the break down was staged...but then as fate would have it, the truck really breaks down.

Yes, it is a film about two guys in the desert talking about their lives going from exchanging blows to a bromance and back again and so on. There are some dark comedy moments. I wish Zach Galifianakis had played Carter, but then I always say that whenever a fat bearded role appears.

The film had an awkward "Twilight Zone" twist at the end which lacked decent development. Makes for a decent rental.

Must see. Don't listen to bad reviews. 2 guys stuck in the dresser. They truck broke down. Do they get out or do the not. Great movie. Great great great great great movie!!!! I think the acting was great. The story is one I haven't seen and is 10 stars. Definitely not a waste of time here. I don't know what else to write. All I can say is great awesome great awesome great awesome great an awesome movie. I watched in twice in a short period of time.
