Too Many Loose Threads

This had the makings of a good film, with a refreshing view of a royal/commoner romance, and a likable cast.

It felt a little bit like the UK TV series Sex Education, except there's no comedy.

Unfortunately there are substantial flaws.

The romance commenced too quickly, and everything in the story seemed rushed. The conclusion left unresolved story arcs aplenty (i.e. The queen, the princess, Lena's unrevealed history, the mystery uploader) as if this is part one of a dilogy or trilogy. However I am not aware of any impending sequels.

I still enjoyed it until the unsatisfactory ending.

Slow moving more serious teen film about some real life consequences with a too fairytale ending.

I am a huge fan of the Norwegian series Skam, so you might understand why I would be willing to give a Norwegian teen drama a try. The title and description had me thinking it was a light weight romantic comedy ala The Prince and Me...but it wasn't.

New girl Elena shows up at school newly moved to Oslo where she catches the attention of the Crown Prince Kalle. When Kalle's twin sister figures out that Elena is hiding some dark secrets, she uses them to threaten her away from her brother Kalle.

This is not a romantic comedy and deals with some more serious topics than most teen films: gossip, social media, teen pregnancy, mental health issues, blackmail, lies, secrets, virginity, responsibility, influencing, etc.

My one major complaint is about the ending. The film felt really unfinished...without Kalle and Elena having a real conversation and his sister passed out on the floor?!?! Really unfinished.

At first I had difficulty warming up to the actor playing Kalle, but Mathias Storhoi really won me over.

Good, but felt like episode 1 of a series

This would have been really good as a TV show, but as a movie it ended in such a wierd way, way to soon. The way it built up, and the way it ended was just like an episode 1 of a TV show.
