Plot summary
By 1915, a contractor traveling to Posadas looking for new staff. Among the music and drinks in a bar and shipped to the mill. He is accompanied by a drunken doctor and his daughter. In the mill, injustices and cruelties are accentuated.

The most important Soffici´s film
Is his fourth, Prisoners of the land. A great effort of production for an argentinian film, made in the natural space of the story very far of the Capital in Misiones forest. The story comes from several tales of the great writer Hoarcio Quiroga, and includes at les two lines of narration in which love an explotation goes together towards the tragedy. The most important argentinian film of the decade, pioneer of the social latin american cinema. Recently restored is a must view.
