The beginning was interesting. It had suspense, and around the 15 minute mark, something shocking happened that I didn't see coming. However, afterwards...gosh, it was so slow. I know it was low budget movie that was more like 28 Days Later than The Walking Dead, but I was not taken with it.
I didn't have a problem with the actors, but the storyline was not fast moving at all.
They kept locking themselves in the barn at night, but I don't know why they didn't build some ladders so they could climb to the roof to keep safe.
I gave this a 4-star rating. I wouldn't watch this again. You might like it if you like subtle movies about some virus/plague that makes the infected secondary to the personal drama. I like action/adventure, and this was neither.

Plot summary
A small group of survivors in post-apocalyptic Australia seek shelter from an infection that has spread like a plague among the human populace. Evie (Tegan Crowley) and her fellow survivors become separated from her husband John (Scott Marcus). Evie refuses to leave John behind against the wishes of the group. The survivors revolt and abandon Evie to an uncertain fate. With the unexpected arrival of Charlie (Steven Kennedy) what appears to be an opportunity at a new beginning quickly turns to horror as menacing as the infected that pursue them.

Slow with no suspense
Not worth it
This film is not worth the time to watch it. It starts out really strongly but as it goes on it gets continually more boring. The characters are totally unbelievable, unlikable and how they made it as far as they did is nothing short of a total miracle. I was lead to believe that they've been surviving for a few weeks, so why everyone still screams all the time and are constantly in a state of panic when anything happens is beyond me. It speaks volumes about a movie when the guy they are trying to portray as an asshole who is hardly even in the majority of the movie, comes across as the most relatable guy.
I was also hoping that what I can only describe as "socially awkward dialogue" would die out at some point but it never does. The majority of the conversations would never actually take place in any kind of situation, the man who loves his wife can't seem to take obvious hints that she isn't okay.
The plot seems to have no sense of direction. The almost non existent combat scenes are all too stupid to comprehend, like they literally just thought "oh f**k it, even i'm getting bored now", it feels like it was hastily made. The production quality is sound but everything else is a no go.
In short: Slow movie, annoying characters, little plot but decent production quality. If you want a zombie movie, this isn't the one.
Avoid this like the plague.
What begins as a routine zombie film set in the Australian outback turns into a post-apocalyptic psycho thriller with the introduction of Charlie (Steven Jianai),a survivor who isn't all he seems. Joining married couple John (Scott Marcus) and Evie (Tegan Crowley) at their hideout, the initially affable Charlie gradually shows his true colours, forcing husband and wife to take extreme action.
Likeable characters: that's what this film is sorely lacking. No-one in Plague is worth a damn. Evie is a selfish cow who wants to jeopardise the safety of a whole group for the sake of her husband John, who turns out to be a snivelling wimp; and Charlie... well he's not supposed to be deserving of our sympathy. After an hour-and-a-half in the company of these wretched people, during which Evie is raped by Charlie, and John resorts to crying, I was close to tears myself.
The ending is possibly the worst part of this whole mess: Evie has been shot in the shoulder and is too weak to move. With the zombies fast approaching, John has no option but to leave his wife, giving her a gun to defend herself. As John walks down the road, he is shot in the leg by Evie, who has somehow managed to get to her feet. Was she pretending to be too exhausted to see if John would abandon her? While I can't blame her for shooting him (he's THAT irritating),it seems like a cruel trick to play. What was he supposed to do? Die by her side?
Having crippled her husband, Evie leaves him to be eaten by the zombies, and wanders down the road to be picked up by a passing helicopter. The end. What a crock!
