I'm a huge fan of Peter Cushing.
Growing up I always looked forward to seeing him and Christopher Lee in the lateest Hammer flick.
The problem with this doc is that you learn next to mothing about him and 'His own words" tends to be sparse.
The movie is largely friends and co-workers gushing about him.
Unfortunate.

Ultimately Disappointing
A lovely man
This is a well produced documentary about the Hammer legend.
It is well balanced between Peter Cushing's recollections and contributions from people who worked with him.
Well worth watching if you are a Hammer fan - or a fan of Peter Cushion in general.
Enjoyable documentary on a true legend...
I wasn't familiar with this 2019 documentary about the iconic and legendary actor Peter Cushing. So imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon it by random chance here in 2022. Needless to say that I needed absolutely no persuasion to sit down and watch "Peter Cushing In His Own Words" from writer and director Richard Edwards.
If you ever have seen a movie with Peter Cushing in it and had a liking for his work, then you most certainly have to watch this 2019 documentary. Because "Peter Cushing In His Own Words" portrays a good presentation of the man behind the many various characters and roles that he played throughout his extensive and impressive career.
It was definitely good to see and hear so many of his former colleagues and friends step up and give in-depths interviews about the man, the actor and the friend that was Peter Cushing. And these definitely help to portray a man that was so far from the villainous roles that he often portrayed in the films that he starred in.
The documentary makes use of great footage from various movies and stages of Cushing's life and career, so it felt like a rather well-planned trip, and it added a lot to the documentary.
I was genuinely entertained by the documentary, and it is certainly one that I would recommend you sit down to watch if you have an interest in the legendary actor.
My rating of "Peter Cushing In His Own Words" lands on a six out of ten stars.
