Plot summary
Danica is a successful worker at a marketing firm, and has been in a relationship with "Charlie", a man she met online a year ago but has never seen in person. When she is sent to pick up her recently-paroled sister Tanya from prison, her mother tells her that Tanya must stay at her house. Tanya is amazed by Danica's apartment and discovers that Danica's ex-fiance Bailey left her for another woman. Tanya thinks Danica is being catfished since she's never seen Charlie. The next day, Tanya and Danica stop by the Brown Bean, a coffee shop next to Danica's work. Frank, the owner, who has a crush on Danica, insists that he will let Tanya work there. When Danica goes to pick up Tanya from work that night she accidentally walks into an AA meeting that is being held there and overhears that Frank used to abuse alcohol and spent seven years in jail.

Actually enjoyable...
I didn't really know what expect from a movie such as this, so I sat down to watch it without any particular expectations.
Turned out that the 2018 movie "Nobody's Fool" by director and writer Tyler Perry was fairly enjoyable. It wasn't outstanding, mind you, but it was entertaining enough for a single viewing.
The storyline in "Nobody's Fool" was fairly straightforward, bordering on being generic actually for a romantic comedy movie. And that was sort of a shame, because that definitely held the movie back.
While Tika Sumpter, in the lead role of Danica, was doing an okay job, the movie was fully carried and delivered by Tiffany Haddish, playing Tanya. The story was about Danica and her love life, but her character and story sort of paled and became less important in comparison to the Tanya character and the amazing performance by Tiffany Haddish.
There were some good laughs in the movie, and I was surprised to see Chris Rock show up in the movie. And it was such a nice treat to see Whoopi Goldberg in the role she had in this movie, she really was hilarious.
While "Nobody's Fool" certainly is watchable and enjoyable, it is hardly a movie that you will be watching more than once.

Nobody is perfect
Whaaaat? How can this great movie have such a bad rating? I really liked it. I laughed and I cried and I truly enjoyed the story and the characters.
Tanya was really funny. She made me laugh a lot. A bit rough on the edges and a very positive character. So was Whoopi Goldberg. An always high mom who brought us laughter and some wise words at the end.
And it has such a beautiful message that nobody is perfect but you may still love them. I first didn't know how he will forgive her. But her scene in the rain outside of his house just made me cry. Usually it is men in the movies who do it. But this time he is the one who deserved it. A truly good men who turned his life around. And "soulmates" you meet online may end up not as great in reality.
