A comedy that isn't the least bit funny....what an original and clever concept.

"Movie 43" was never screened for reviewers because apparently the studio knew the movie was a bomb. And, sadly, despite this the movie did make money because Hollywood never loses money taking the low road....and it doesn't get much lower than this movie.

The movie consists of various skits coming one after the other. I saw a review that made a comparison to "Kentucky Fried Movie" but I would have to say that although "Kentucky Fried Movie" definitely had quite a few skits that fell flat, in "Movie 43" they pretty much ALL fall flat. What's the reason? Well, either the skits had plots that simply COULDN'T be funny (such as a lady begging her boyfriend to defecate on her as well as the guy with testicles growing on his neck) or they were funny ideas but were handled so horribly that they fell totally flat. A great example are the parents who want to make home schooling like real schooling (complete with lots of trauma)...a funny concept but taken way, way, way too far...and lacked subtlety and seemed as if it was made by someone who knows NOTHING about comedic timing.

I think the most amazing thing about this movie is that it does have quite a few famous stars in it...such as Hugh Jackman, Dennis Quaid, Chris Pratt, Emma Stone, Kate Winslet and many others. How were they able to get real stars to act in this film? Could it be that they never read the scripts?! Could it be that the filmmakers held members of the stars' families hostage and forced them to be in this terrible movie?! Who knows...all I know is that the film was completely unfunny, stupid and occasionally quite gross.

Not funny, only 1-2 segment has potential

This is a movie of small segments of outrageous humor except none of it is funny. The segments are stories being pitched by Dennis Quaid to producer Greg Kinnear.

The first main segment has Hugh Jackman with his scrotum hanging off his neck. HA HA HA! You're suppose to laugh at this sight gag from Peter Farrelly. Why? I'm not sure.

The second segment has Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts homeschooling Jeremy Allen White.

The third one has Anna Faris asking boyfriend Chris Pratt to poop on her. At least in this one, it is interesting to see some husband and wife chemistry from the usually funny actors.

The fourth has Emma Stone battling verbally with grocery store clerk Kieran Culkin. It's curious for about 2 minutes and then the mannerisms get tiring.

There are segments of iBabe about music players that look like naked models. It is about the least funny use of hot girls.

Super Hero Speed Dating has Justin Long as Robin trying to do speed dating and encounter various other comic book characters. This is probably the one with the most potential. The direction just needs to be better. This was almost good.

Then there is the fake PSA where kids are in everyday machines doing the work. Not funny and boring.

Chloë Grace Moretz is making out with Jimmy Bennett only to be interrupted by his brother Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Then she starts to have her period. Like so many other segments, this is an one joke premise being stretched way too thin. It could be a funny joke in a better movie. Here it is a cute moment that the actors flail around to try to keep the moment going.

Happy Birthday has Johnny Knoxville has captured leprechaun Gerard Butler for Seann William Scott's birthday gift. I think this would be better as a Tale from the Crypt.

Halle Berry and Stephen Merchant are on a blind date and they start playing truth or dare. It has a charming rom-com feel to the beginning but turns into tired ridiculous territories.

Victory's Glory is a 1959 segment of an all bad basketball team playing an all white team. Terrence Howard plays coach Jackson. It's very repetitive.

Then there is a final segment with an animated cat called Beezel. The movie has nothing left and this is just beating a dead cat.

The disjointed nature of the movie takes away any way to built any relationships or discover the characters' nature. This is simply shock humor for the sake of shock humor. In the end, the shocks are boring and the humor is lacking.

One of a kind movie - Must watch.

I just don't get it, how this movie get just 4.2 stars? I laughed so hard, I just had to watch it for the 2nd time. I recommended this movie to a lot of people and most of them told me that it's one of the funniest movies they watched.

You don't need a plot in all movies, this movie is based on a few non-related clips that will leave you in tears (from laugh of course).

Just give it a chance and watch it. Thank me later.
