The space shuttle HMS Churchill rendezvous with Halley's Comet under the command of Col. Tom Carlsen. They find an object hidden in the head of the comet. Within, they find dead bodies that look like giant bats and 3 perfectly preserved humanoid bodies. 30 days later, the shuttle returns to earth without any communication. They sent up Columbia to investigate, find the crew dead after a fire and the three aliens in crystal cases. The girl alien sucks out the lifeforce from people, turns them into zombies, influences minds and then escapes. Dr. Hans Fallada follows the space vampire girl. An escape pod with Col. Carlsen is found in Texas. Col. Colin Caine teams up with Carlsen to track down the alien girl.
This is a good campy sci-fi B-movie. It has lots of flaws but they are all excusable with a hot naked woman. A lead character needs to stay on the screen but he is away for much of the first half. It would also be helpful to have a compelling actor as the lead. It's a crazy mix of vampires, mind-control and sci-fi. There are a lot of cheesy special effects. Some of it is really effective like the dried up body sucking out somebody's lifeforce. London in chaos is apocalyptic fun.

Vampires and Zombies in London
The space shuttle Churchill is assigned to observe the Halley's Comet under the command of Col. Tom Carlsen (Steve Railsback). They see a strange form attached to the comet and Carlsen goes with a team to investigate. They find three humanoid life forms in caskets and they bring them to the Churchill. However, Earth loses contact with the shuttle and the Space Research Center sends another spacecraft to search the Churchill. They find the crew dead and the shuttle burnt and one rescue pod missing. They bring the humanoids to Earth and soon Dr. Hans Fallada (Frank Finlay) and his team discover that the Space Girl (Mathilda May) is a sort of vampire and drains the life force from people transforming them into zombies. When the authorities find that Col. Tom Carlsen has survived, they summon him to explain what happened in the Churchill. Carlsen tells an incredible story about the three aliens and he teams up with Col. Colin Caine (Peter Firth) trying to save mankind from the evil vampires from the space.
"Lifeforce" is a great sci-fi movie, with a story that uses the storyline of Alien entwined with zombie apocalypse movies. The most curious is that the gorgeous and sexy actress Mathilda May works naked all the times. I had seen this movie on 23 January 2001 and 21 Dec 2001 and I liked most than today. The plot has flaws but it worth to see this movie, not only because of Mathilda May, but because it is a good story. My vote is seven.
Title (Brazil): "Força Sinistra" ("Sinister Force")
Strangely hypnotic because of the special effects
Lifeforce is ludicrously campy horror film let down by a confusing story, a wooden lead actor but it has great special effects.
The disreputable Cannon Group were hoping that Lifeforce would be the Citizen Kane of horror movies. Golan and Globus must have found out that it was indeed Steven Spielberg who directed most of the good bits of Poltergeist.
The joint NASA/ESA space shuttle project, Churchill reaches Halley's Comet under the command of Colonel Tom Carlsen (Steve Railsback.) Inside the comet they find an alien spaceship.
When the astronauts go for a closer look they discover giant bats and three naked humanoid bodies in a crystal chamber. They decided to bring the humanoids to their spaceship.
The story jumps 30 days later when the space shuttle returns to earth's orbit. The crew are dead apart from the humanoids who turn out to be space vampires. They suck the lifeforce out of humans who then go on a zombie rampage in London.
Colonel Carlsen is left alive and together with SAS soldier Colonel Colin Caine they want to track down and kill the remaining space vampires.
French actress Mathilda May is gratuitously wholly naked throughout the movie as the sole alien humanoid. She mesmerises men and sucks their lifeforce out. When the aliens are in a laboratory, there are no soldiers on guard to prevent any harm coming to the scientists.
The plot is confusing, I am still unsure why London ended up with zombies running amok. That bit of the story was straight out of Quatermass and the Pit. Railsback is awful, even the zombies out act him.
