A woman for all seasons

Just had the huge pleasure of seeing this amazingly underrated film at an art cinema in Christchurch, NZ. No publicity or fanfare, it was simply there. Other reviewers have outlined the story, but the major motifs of faith, cultural and generational clashes, feminism, and above all the music - oh! the music! - make this a film not to be missed at any price. I liked every aspect of this French Canadian film. The acting, the script, the costuming, the classical music, the hauntingly beautiful winter landscapes of frozen river and fields. The shadow of change and the pathos and heartbreak on one hand, coupled with the promises and possibilities of new life and growth on the other, left me pondering the eternal questions of life and death. Don't miss it! Please don't miss it!

Great movie with sensational music.

Just viewed "The Passion of Augustine" on TV5Monde tonight from India. Feeling very proud of Lysandre Ménard, pianist as she have showed your passion mixed with years of practice and learning music with utmost devotion. Her acting is also very beautiful as her look and personality. Hope she will be a great actor and famous musician of the world.

Also wish to thank Céline Bonnier for her beautiful and sensitive act in the film, to Léa Pool for her extraordinary direction and Daniel Jobin for the stunning camera angles.

It is not easy to find this film, so if you have a chance to see it, you are a very lucky person.

Most adorable

The beauty and the music in this film is rarely reached. Great music apparently with pianists and actors all in one. A pearl of a film. Adding the transformation of the church with modern times, adds another evolving narrative.
