The grey colour palette really emphasizes the dreariness of the couple's lives after their daughter is gone.

Live for the little things. Getting upset is wasted time. The parents argue and the daughter dislikes it. The daughter kicks a soccer ball and it hits the house, causing a chip and the parents don't make a big deal over it - they smile and take a photo together. They go travelling together to the Grand Canyons. The daughter has her first kiss with a boy and the shadow daughter pushes the shadow parents away. The shadow parents try to protect the daughter from going to school. Screams, police sirens...and then grief.

The shadows of each of the family members are like souls. Beautiful animation as well as the songs played.

The Academy Award-winning "If Anything Happens I Love You" focuses on a tragic occurrence that repeatedly happens in the US. It's the only country where this happens.

It's one of the most gut-wrenching animated shorts that I've seen, but I recommend it.

Very worthy of the Oscar nomination! Well drawn, emotional impact, and accurate to the events. I haven't dealt with death much but this is a devastating look at the aftermath.
