The plot couldn't possibly be more basic or paint-by-numbers, but overall it's an enjoyable romp through a prototypical 80's flick.

Silly but enjoyable 80's flick
Hold back the ketchup
Hot Dog is not really a good movie and does not rival Stripes or Animal House as it is just not funny enough.
Patrick Houser plays Harkin Banks, a young and innocent freestyle skier who heads to Squaw valley to take part in a competition. Along the way he picks up a young girl called Sunny who he gets friendly with.
At the resort he teams up with some fun loving guys called the 'Rat Pack' led by O'Callahan (David Naughton.) Ace Austrian freestyle skier who Banks admires turns out to be a douche bag but the organisers of the race favour because him as he brings in public interest to the competition.
The film has some pranks, zaniness, lots of tits and ass, such as a pointless Miss Wet T shirt contest in a bar.
After a disputed result it all ends with a crazy 'Chinese Downhill' as all competitors take part in to find the true champion.
It is all rather cheesy and moronic. Shannon Tweed in an early film role is easy on the eye.
Gloriously lowbrow 80's T&A trash ski comedy blast
Eager young Idaho farmboy skiing upstart Harkin Banks (a likeable performance by Patrick Houser) goes to Squaw Valley, California to participate in a major competition. Harkin falls for spunky teen runaway Sunny (a perkyy and appealing portrayal by the adorable Tracy Smith),befriends local wildman Dan (David Naughton in top engaging form),and runs afoul of arrogant champion rival Rudi (broadly overplayed by John Patrick Regar).
Directed with considerable verve by Peter Markle, with a perfectly sophomoric script by Mike Marvin, and plenty of breathtaking mountainside scenery, this flick certainly gives the viewers their money's worth: We've got oodles of delicious bare female skin, a spot-on sidesplitting sense of cheerfully rude'n'crude humor, a super catchy and bouncy soundtrack, an amiable breezy tone, a fantastic raucous wet t-shirt contest, an equally rowdy party scene, marvelously un-PC ethnic stereotypes, lots of simply spectacular skiing footage, and the big exciting Chinese downhill grand finale. Gorgeous blonde Playboy Playmate of the Year '82 Shannon Tweed burns up the screen as enticing ski bunny Sylvia Fonda while Crystal Smith (Playboy's Miss September '71) has a memorably sexy small role as a foxy brunette hotel clerk who answers the front desk wearing nothing but a smile and a towel on her head. A true classic in its genre.
