A good entertaining movie about the reality of soccer

This movie sets itself in an alternate universe of present Indonesia. However, the story itself can be found in relation to any football drama around the world; it's about how football is affected by the bookies.

Hari ini pasti menang, is really how the team will win because it's set by the bookie.

The presence of senior actors create several memorable scene and the story is clearly a well written one.

Don't get tricked by the lousy rating, it's not action packed and it requires some thinking about the story; which is why the average indonesian watcher might not fully grasped the beauty of it.

Above all, this movie shows how Indonesia can create good movie per se, and not just an attempt to make money out.

A movie attempts to write down a new history for Indonesian football.

The movie has interesting proposition to offer. What if history are made for Indonesian football? What if Indonesian football is not just a myth, but a reality? What if Indonesia is one leading country in Asian football and they just made their way into the quarter final of World Cup 2014 in Brazil?

But, the movie is not about how Indonesia make the history, it tells about the world after with its main character, Gabriel Omar Baskoro. Coincidentally, match fixing issue rises in various international media. It is suspected that Asian bookies have an influence with a series of "strange" result in European football. It is hard to believe in reality, and the movie challenge us whether to believe it or not if it's happening to in Indonesian football.

It has an eminent song entitled "Indonesiaku", composed by Ananda Sukarlan, who I believe among the best soundtrack of the year. It is so rare that football to be picked as a movie theme in Indonesia, so Hari Ini Pasti Menang should be greatly celebrated for any movie buffs and football fans.

Very interesting sport drama

The title "Hari Ini Pasti Menang" (This Is A Good Day To Win - or their English title: GO8) already speaks for itself. This movie tells an interesting intrigue behind the glamorous industry of football in Indonesia just like in any other part of the world where football is very popular. Its main character, Gabriel Omar (who seems to be named after a famous footballer in the 90s, Gabriel Omar Batistuta) is a rising star who just brought Indonesia to their first FIFA World Cup in Brazil in 2014 (yes, this movie is set in the future).

Public don't know that their young idol is trapped in a dangerous game of match-fixing. Until a persistent female journalist, Andin. is trying hard to uncover this saddening fact. But of course this effort leads to a point of no return where Gabriel, Andin, his coach and his father's interest collide, and lead them into a dismal.
