great premise but inferior execution

Dan Walker (Kevin Zegers),girlfriend Parker O'Neil (Emma Bell),and best friend Joe Lynch (Shawn Ashmore) bribe their way onto the last run on the slopes. They're closing early due to an incoming storm. A miscommunication among the operators leads to a shutdown while the threesome are still on the lift. It's Sunday and they reopen on Friday. Dan decides to jump and breaks his leg in the process. That's when the wolves come.

It's a great premise. The three young actors are capable. The story is a bit lacking but the dialog is its major failings. It is nowhere near sharp enough. The characters don't come off well with the poor quality of the banter. With this premise, the meat has to come from exceptional dialog. I'm thinking Tarantino. Adam Green is no Tarantino.

Choices and Consequences

In Mount Holliston, the snowboarders Dan Walker (Kevin Zegers),his girlfriend Parker O'Neil (Emma Bell) and his best friend Joe Lynch (Shawn Ashmore) do not have enough money to buy the tickets of the cable car of the skiing station and Parker bribes the employee Jason (Ed Ackerman) with one hundred dollars. When the system is near to be closed, they force Jason to let them have the last travel. However, Jason needs to resolve a problem and his colleague misunderstands his instructions and stops the cable car, and the trio of snowboarders gets stranded on the chairlift on the top of the mountain. When they see that the lights of the ski resort had been turned off, they need to make a choice to leave the chairlift otherwise they will freeze to death. However, they are surrounded by wolves in a helpless situation.

"Frozen" is a frightening and realistic film about choices and consequences. Older people may forget decisions they had taken when they were teenagers, but the decision of Dan, Parker and Joe are credible considering their age. The storyline is very simple, but scares and impresses. Despite being shot in an open area, this film is claustrophobic and very well acted, with perfect make-up of the cast burned by the cold weather and keeping the tension until the last scene. My vote is seven.

Title (Brazil): "Pânico na Neve" ("Panic in the Snow")

I don't want to see this movie again

First of all let me start by saying, Frozen is a really GOOD movie. The reason why I never want to see it again because this is one of those movies that will haunt u forever. I went through some of the reviews & I'm surprised at the amount of negative reviews, I agree to some extent with them, but some of those reviews are way exaggerated.

I wasn't expecting much of the movie, I only predicted that I'm not going to like it, & I was wrong. The first half hour of the movie didn't grab my attention what so ever, the main characters don't really grow into u, in fact, you are going to hate them all a little bit. That being said, you can't stop but feel sorry & terrified by what happens to them after they got stuck up there, I was literally feeling & living the scenes with them & I was really disturbed/stressed/sad......., & all along one thing was going through my head, what if this happened to me, because lets face it, this has happened before & will happen again, & if you are unlucky u could end up going through the same. As much as the characters sucked, they didn't deserve that kind of death "getting eaten by a pack of wolves ALIVE", specially when they turn out not so bad after all, u will really feel sad for them. The scenes are too graphic, even to me (I see blood & guts & laugh: hahaa it's all makeup),I was holding my hands to my face most of the time & holding my breath every time something was coming up.. Stuff shown in this movie happens in real life that's why this movie will be like a slap in the face if u watch it & keep asking yourself, what if it was me in their shoe, what would I do, what would u wish u had learn before to help you save your life here..

We all know we're going to die one day, but it is unexpected, it could be in the most unexpected time or place, & watching this movie & putting yourself in their shoes, will make you appreciate your time & situation & might motivate you to finally do at least one the things you kept postponing all this time. Death is right around the corner, make sure u make the most of your moments alive.
