White people like cookies

The title is a clever teaser. It is a head fake, as was much of the film, by design. Amy (Elyse Levesque) fishes topless. Tinsel Korey keeps her clothes on.

David (Bronson Pelletier) and Rodney (Evan Williams) fish in the American NW. David is lives with his Native American grandmother (Elaine Miles) who sees green light orbs. As a hobby, the guys don a Big Foot costume and scare tourist, but also attracts media attention and that of the Feds. In the woods, they meet Amy and Jen who join them in their antics.

If there is anything as a "B" indie film, this would be it. This is an indie style film, not really aimed at an indie audience. The film attempts to be funny, but has a hard time generating smiles.

Guide: Implied sex. Distant nudity with long red hair covering vitals. F-bombs (more than a 3 maximum PG-13 film, but not excessive)

Literally and not

The movie is ... well quite differnt from what the title may or may not suggest. In the beginning you kind of get the fishing part ... then you get the naked part (sort of) ... but then you get a whole of other stuff. Apart from its silliness it has other ... things. Some may think they are issues, some may love whatever they would like to call it.

I really dig the actors and the characters they portray. Even while I wouldn't do half the stuff they do ... I really like them as movie characters. You may feel different ... especially because of their actions ... and the humor. This is up to you ... enjoy it ... or not

Fishing for Views

Fishing "Naked" strongly deserves only one star for the most misleading title in movie history. Much like a YouTube title like "Naked Coed Chicks Gone Wild" but is only about a group of ugly puppies playing in mud, this movie uses the same trick just to get hits.

IF NOT for some actually and hugely surprisingly good moments of acting from the main cast, namely the grandma, her grandson, the sheriff and the two wandering graduate girls, this movie would be a complete waste. Maybe they were using this barely above a film school dropout's independent low-budget "comedy" as an audition tape because no matter how many things went wrong, there were certain talent in the cast.

I'd like to say I don't know where to begin, but I already did with the film's title. Beyond that, it's a hodgepodge of cheap special effects, story lines that sort of begin and abruptly get lost, mood swings and shifts that make no sense to the world created, jokes that don't work and the most unrealistic ideas of trickery that even a two-year-old would scoff at.

To describe the plot is hard, but mostly it's about two idiots who stumble upon two sorta-hippie chicks and they combine ideas to hoax tourist. Oh, and there's tons of fishing, kinda aliens, old orb obstacles and "hairy" men? Actually, the loosely-termed script throws in many more subplots that sounded more like ideas from the brainstorming that somehow made it to the filming stage.

Getting back to the title, there is about 30 seconds of the staggering and over-long 98 minutes devoted to the title and even that's PG nudity. A Disney cartoon would have more and I've seen way worse on regular TV. Again, it's just a trick to get people to notice this film.

The movie was so incredibly hard to get through, and that's too bad. I wanted more from what the cast had to offer. If only the director/writer(s) wouldn't have always butted in with incredibly horrific ideas. Totally skip this "feature."

Final thoughts: Annnnnd, the trick worked on me. Haha. Yep, I spent half the movie for at very least, the lead, David to take off his clothes as he was cute, but by the half-way mark, I realized it was a ploy and I always vow I cannot write a review on a movie I didn't see all the way through as that's unfair to what could do a 180 and get better by the finale. Well, this didn't. The joke was on me, I took, ah-hem, the bait and that's probably why I'm so upset at this awful experience. At least I did finish it and can tell (demand) others not to make the same mistake I did.
