Do not look at the 1 star reviews here on imdb, for a Netflix comedy it was actually pretty decent and had far more original funny scenes than i had anticipated, of course some of the scenes were cringy, but that is besides the point, it is supposed to be an over the top teen comedy.
David Spade and Nat Faxon were great in this movie, usually not the biggest fan of these actors, can not understand why people give this movie horrible reviews/ratings. This film is just simple, dumb fun and nothing more, do not take it seriously, sit back, relax and enjoy the dumb Adam Sandler type of fun.
Plot summary

Not a bad comedy for a Netflix original
... Not
Also not movie of the year. Not even comedy of the year. But let's not hinge on the negative. Because there are things to like here. The female and male lead have some nice scenes and an overall good chemistry, which shows on screen. Now that might be a low bar for some, but when this is one of the main themes of the movie it is good to get it right.
If you watch a David Spade comedy on the other hand, do you really have a right to complain or expect more than the bare minimum? And for those who are fans, you do get what you expect too. If you are a fan of his, you don't need to read what I have to say about it, unless you want to get mad about someone who doesn't get him. Let me clarify, that this is just aimed at the movies he's doing. One would argue he can't act (and I would strongly support that claim),but he has his fans just as other "actors" have theirs. So while there is not much to spoil, you should know what you get yourself into (bonus scene in the end credits)
Enjoyed it more than I do most Adam Sandler movies lately.
'FATHER OF THE YEAR': Three Stars (Out of Five)
The new Netflix comedy film from Happy Madison Productions (Adam Sandler's production company). It stars David Spade as an alcoholic father who wants to fight the father of his son's best friend, due to a debate the boys had about who would win. The movie also costars Nat Faxon, Joey Bragg, Matt Shively, Bridgit Mendler and Jared Sandler (Adam's nephew). The movie was directed by Tyler Spindel, and written by Spindel and Brandon Cournoyer. The film was released by Netflix through their streaming site, and it's gotten only negative reviews from critics so far. I enjoyed it more than I do most Adam Sandler movies lately.
Ben (Bragg) is a recent college grad who's hoping to get a high paying job, and move away from the small town he grew up in for good. Larry (Shively) is Ben's best friend, who also wants to start a new life for himself (and move out of town). When the two boys have a drunken debate over which of their father's would win in a fight, it encourages Ben's father, Wayne (Spade),to actually pick a fight with Larry's father, Mardy (Faxon). This causes problems for both of the boys, and their future plans, as well as their dads.
The movie is actually funny, most of the time, which is a change from most Adam Sandler flicks. It has likable characters, that you actually want to root for, and decent performances. It's the best acting I've seen from Spade in some time, and Faxon is good in his role as well. The film also works well because it focuses more on the kids than the adults. I enjoyed it, but I had pretty low expectations going into it though.
