Great story with a lesson

Fabulous story line that leaves you challenged to be a better person. If you enjoy wrestling, this movie will be even more enjoyable for you, but it's not a requirement. You can watch this with your family and have good discussions afterwards. The actor who plays the young boy is in his acting debut, and he does a wonderful job. Appearances by recognizable actors of screen and TV bring a sense of familiarity while not stealing the show from the main characters. Do you want to laugh? Watch this movie. Do you want to cry? Watch this movie. Are you looking for a movie that will tell a story that with a a moral perspective that makes society better? Watch this movie. At times it could move a little faster, but the length is reasonable so even the slower parts don't seem to make the movie drag on.

Fun, great characters and an unusual ending.

This movie has great interaction among the main characters. There is good chemistry between the two leads, Tommy the kid and Leo, the film's protagonist.

The photography is very good with a colorful yet noir feel to it, in a modern setting that does not quite feel like it is of this era however. The story is timeless.

The Darkness is one of the BEST villains I've seen in a film in years.

The ending is unexpected and satisfying.

This is a fun movie with some quirky humor that still tugs at the heart. It is about an over-the-hill wrestler, but you won't have to be a wrestling fan to enjoy this flick.

Leo's in for the match of his life.

I'm the kind of guy who cries during the feed the birds scene in Mary Poppins. I don't think it's mushy, I think it's simple and profound. Fancypants does this for me. The truths are deep and they're told in a simple way. there is nothing new in the film that you haven't seen before but it is told with honesty. My inner child liked it and my 50 yr old wrestling fan brain liked it. Plus there's Piper! I'm also a big fan of Independent film. I love the quirky humor of Wes Anderson. If you're looking for it, you can see the influence in the jokes, I did. The lead, Patrick Gleason, is believable and sympathetic. I like Tommy too. He must have some back ground in the theater. I've seen the wrestler and now I've seen Fancypants. I like the ending better in the latter. Nuff said.
