In "Esta Es Tu Cuba", Robau continues to showcase his storytelling craft, wringing the maximum emotional response from his viewers. The film is about Operation Peter Pan, the evacuation of over 14,000 unaccompanied minors, including Brian's father, from Cuba to America in the 1960's after Fidel Castro came to power. It's a very well-made, historic film that elicits a strong emotional response in the viewer. It has authentic details - the music, the clothing, etc, and good cinematography, and the symbolism of the mother and son touching hands throughout the film is tied together well with the ending. Brian Robau's talent will take him far, and I look forward to seeing his first feature-length film. In the Breckenridge Film Festival, the Awards Committee gave it both Best Student Film and Best Short Drama awards.
