Interesting and enjoyable but flawed version

After being asked to check the truth about an infamous haunted sanitarium for their show, a group of paranormal investigators find the building haunted by a series of malicious ghosts and try to find out why they're being haunted.

A pretty decent though flawed effort that manages to get some good things amongst it but which has enough flaws to really lower it. One of the main flaws is that this one feels the need to introduce the secondary investigative team on the rounds for no real reason other than to give them a point of shouting contests with each other and it's quite tiring when they stop the investigation to go into yet another spiel about how the two groups can't stand each other. As well, the fact that this has one of the lamest endings possible that doesn't generate any kind of suspense or scares and the brevity and suddenness of it clearly gives away the fact that it ran out of money before fully fleshing out it's vision. However, there's still some great points here, from a genuinely creepy and chilling location that's the perfect hiding spot for ghosts and such to appear from out of nowhere and generate some thrills, a couple of pretty gory deaths and a lot of thrilling action in the last half as the story finally unwinds and is allowed to go all out. These really help the movie out, but there's still a few problems to hold it down.

Rated R: Graphic Language and Graphic Violence.

Not that bad

I read some of the reviews and frankly I don't understand some of them. Yeah it could have been acted better by some of the people but all in all I thought it was an okay movie. It pitted believers and unbelievers going after the same thing from different view points who come together at the end, at least those that survived (not many). As for the very end I believe it was a dying bad guy who was hoping for proof that there was no afterlife seeing film footage that said the opposite and he was going to Hell. That is just my take on the end, what's yours? I thought the in the corner of the eye flickers and shadows were well done. I must say I don't get the significance of the eight raped and murdered women though.

1.3 million dollar hoax in many ways....

I worked on this "film" There is no way that it was near 1.3 million dollars unless the producers paid themselves 1,270,000. It would be utterly embarrassing if the budget were that high to produce this product, and utterly criminal if they spent this money without paying any of the working crew (the shoot was done by a few very dedicated, very inexperienced interns). And not even pay for the use of camera equipment - one supplied by the unpaid shooter, the other by the unpaid intern. Its half laughable, half disturbing that a production company would advertise a budget on a production to be so much higher than it actually was (maybe $30,000 for production). They should be embarrassed and then audited. And after hanging their heads in shame, should send checks to the people who made it, and then watch a few movies that did in fact cost 1.3 million dollars and see what real film making, and script writing is. Or go to film school.
