A very Painful Movie to Watch

A father turns his life completely around after the very tragic death of his daughter. He had essentially destroyed his life, but in the reconciled his angry with his wife. I saw this as a story of a mother and father dealing not so well with the sudden, tragic death of their young daughter. Only at the end is it explained what happened to the daughter. Giving the impression that the parents did not know what happened to the girl. It is hard to understand what goes through the mind of grieving parents. This is just one version of such a tragedy. A very moving story. We all grieve in different ways, so it's hard to imagine that anyone is ever ready to deal with it.

Brilliant whodunnit with a postmodern twist

This is a positively beautiful film. As you see a man unravelled by tragedy, and connect with all kinds of people in a destructive slow dance of pain, you slowly discover the reason for his undoing!

Not good. Totally unrealistic. Cliche.

I couldn't figure out if this was trying to be a "drama" as billed, or a comedy, or "Pretty Lady". When, oh, when are people going to stop making cliche "Prostitute with a heart of gold" garbage? This was supposed to be about a father working through grief about his daughter's death, but instead it was just some dude sitting in bed, drinking, getting high with a "light-hearted, sweet fake-o Hollywood version of a prostitute", joking around and being annoying and unrealistic.

Cutting away once here and there to some grief and drama with cloying background music couldn't save this film. Wish I hadn't wasted my time. I usually like movies from Canada, but not this one.
