Three is a harm

This is the third and final installment of the German "Wanderhure" series. After the huge success in terms of television audience figures (not with critics) of the first film, they quickly decided to make more movies and this third one came out only half a year after the first. I personally thought this was still a weak film here, but the worst of the series stays the first film. There are some cringeworthy writing sequences in here, for example when the main character 100% knows that her child will be a boy or how her man is of course the king's best knight. The film runs for pretty much exactly 120 minutes like the first two. But the director and writers have changed. Both of them did lots of romantic comedy television rubbish before this movie, so it fits right in I guess. The second movie had some new faces (Berger, Schweins...),but this one really did not. At least, most of the key players from the previous films are back. And Julie Engelbrecht (daughter of Constanze) is not only as stunning as it gets, but actually really plays a villain character who elevates the entire movie in terms of quality. That was much needed though as Neldel is as forgettable as always. Götz Otto plays his biggest role in the three movies and he also has the best scene near the end with Engelbrecht's character when he finds out who the real mother is. This one may very well be the best scene from the entire trilogy. Sadly, everything that follows in the 15 minutes afterward is back to usually bad again.

This also says the core of the film. The whore becomes pregnant and gives birth and her child is taken from her and given to the king who is made believe that this was actually his child, the heir to the throne. Don't ask me why it took so long till the whore got pregnant and when she finally did, it's a child of love of course. Pretty cringeworthy. Also when that black woman keeps calling Neldel the "Adlerfrau" was pretty bad too. Or how Neldel's character seems basically unkilleable at the end and always gets away with her life somehow. In general, the dialogs are equally bad as in the first two films for the most part. 3 films and they have learned hardly nothing. Right now it does not see that they will make a fourth film and that's for the better I guess. All the intrigues in this one are not great filmmaking, not even for television. "The Whore's Legacy" is really not worth the watch except for Engelbrecht maybe. I watched the three films within two weeks and I have to say, it's a contender for worst German trilogy of all time. Please stay away. but feel free to check out my reviews for the other two films.

Totally Underrated in IMDb

In 1427, Lady Maria Van Arnstein (Alexandra Neldel) is informed that her beloved husband Michel Van Arnstein (Bert Tischendorf) was murdered in a battle against the Hussitas. However he was actually betrayed by his ambitious cousin Hettenhein that wants his lands and castle. The Pope's Great Inquisitor Janus Suppertour meets King König Sigismund (Götz Otto) and tells that he wants Maria for him. Meanwhile Maria does not find blood in Michel's sword and believes that he is alive. She asks to the king for a period to seek out Michel and Sigismund grants ten days to her. She leaves the Hohenstein Castle and heads to the lands of the independent Solkony that are preparing to a war against the Hussitas that want the right of free will to follow the religion they want. Along her journey, Maria will meet leaders and will help to bring peace to Solkony. But her beloved Michel is amnesic and does not recall his previous life with her.

"Das Vermächtnis der Wanderhure" is an adventure totally underrated in IMDb. The screenplay gives the sensation that the story is a sequel of another movie and is confused in the beginning. However along the story the viewer understands the historic moment and what happened to Maria. We decided to see this movie yesterday in a group of four with the lowest expectations based on the IMDb User Rating; however, we all liked this movie. Last, the German actresses are very beautiful women. My vote is seven.
