Not a bad movie but not a particularly good one either. Held my interest but was slow and hard to follow in some places. Will watch anything with Kurt Russell. Lead's acting was strong during the family stuff, but weaker in many other scenes. Suspect I will have forgotten about it by tomorrow but on the other hand I never turned it off or threw anything at the screen. I was expecting a smarter thriller like Shattered Glass so that didn't help. At least it wasn't super dumb.

The film opens with Martin Duran jr. (Beau Knapp) internal bank auditor, offering a flash drive for the life of Kurt Russell. Who would do that? The film then flashes back as Marty does his job too well and gets exiled from NYC back to his home in Albany. Here he meets old friends and mends his broken relationship with his family. Then there is also the Bitcoin Russian mafia, money laundering thing he uncovers.

The film was borderline good. Beau Knapp was a dry character by design. Like most films, it would have better without Kurt Russell.

Guide: F-word. Sex. No nudity.

Which would translate into "Hide and seek". Something that could be applied here too, to a certain degree. Kurt Russell does add some gravitas and if you have a star like that, you wil show him as early as possible! Especially because he's just a side character in the whole story.

This thriller is not really great and we have seen way better, but everyone starts off slow and small don't they? So while this isn't the best out there, you could do far worse. Then again that just might mean that I'm watching way too many movies as it is (guilty as charged) ...
