When the film historians of the future close the lid on this period, they will conclude that Tom Jane did not do enough movies. He carries this production to the finish line and holds the audience every step of the way.

CROWN VIC takes us on one memorable night in the life of veteran patrol officer Ray Mandel and his trainee, ambitious rookie cop Nick Holland in LAPD's Olympic Division. With two cop killers on the loose and hunting for more targets, Mandel and Holland must contend with a city about to boil over, as well as Jack VanZandt, an unhinged rogue cop out for payback running wild in their patrol zone. As the night wears on, Mandel finds himself in a desperate race against the clock to find a missing girl as he and Holland prowl the dangerous streets of LA in their police car, protected by only a few thin sheets of metal and glass.

Jane kills it
not THE masterpiece
But still extremely good enough. its the lapd squad car on patrol again, weve seen them before, and more will come.
its the training day for the rookie rookie, and papa copper tells you what to do, what to say, what to shut up about, and how to do things best to ensure your own safety, so that you might have a long life unharmed in the force, so remember to look at his hands whatever you do....
its a lot of carriding, with some snack here and there, and if you know the police code youll be far better into the story. the acting are good, the sound effects sit in the guts, the mental state of a copper are well described, and near the end your just pinned to the chair to what happens next.
i usually dont like films like this, i like better the opposite part, heists and robberies and such stuff, but the grumpy old man had a nice ride in the dark l.a. streets, and will therefore recommend you to too.
Surprisingly awesome cop flick!
I wasn't expecting much after seeing the trailer for this b-grade film, but surprisingly ended up really enjoying it.
Newbie writer and director Joel Souza presented one typical L.A. night shift in a cruiser, and pulled it off quite well. There was a constant cloud of suspense in the way it was written and directed. It felt very real and intense. The cinematography was great, and the score on point. The 110 runtime was a little too long and either should've shaved off 10-15 mins, and/or the pacing picked up a little.
Nevertheless, mad props to Joel Souza for creating this little low-budget b-grade gem. A definite recommend, and a well deserving 8/10 from me.
