I had never heard of George Basha until I saw his film The combination Redemption on Netflix . So I googled and found he had directed and starred in this film . So I watched it and boy was I gripped onto my seat . He brings realism to his films and this film is no different . It makes you feel every emotion that the character goes through . One of the best prison films I have seen . Must watch

This is entertainment at its best
I can't really understand the hate for this film.
This is not a great movie. It's never going to garner much of 'The Academy's' time and is an absolutely derivative example of the genre, to the point where a seasoned viewer would be able to identify each prison film that is being mined on a scene by scene basis.
That said, it's not terrible either. It's technically competent with regards to sound, lighting and cinematography and the sets and extras make for an immersive and atmospheric environment. Some of the dialogue is a bit leaden, and it's delivery equally so in parts, but this is definitely 5/10 material.
I'm not sure that those reviewers giving 1/10 scores have ever actually seen a truly bad film. This is not one of those.
CASUALTY OF WAR
"Convict" is the Australian version of a man wrongfully accused gone to prison and harassed, but fights back film. Ray (George Basha -also wrote/directed) is convicted of manslaughter of a rich kid when it was clearly self defense. As always they can never get a good premise to put an innocent person in jail. He is also a war hero and uses his skills to survive, i.e. beat up guys 10 times his size...but he can never handle two of them. The warden is payed to make his life difficult.
This kind of film hasn't been done in at least a month, so it was so refreshing ;) Seriously, it held my interest even though it lacked memorable tough guy sound bites and Pamela Grier. Worth a view if you are into the tough prison guy thing.
F-bomb. Male butt nudity. No sex.
